ADHD treated old adults have less brain loss than the respective non treated or non adhd cohort. As hypocrates said: poison's in the dosage. Lot of moralistic claims here being "skeptical" about the neuroprotective effect of stimulants when properly used. Do me a favor, get a degree in medicine firsr, then a PhD in neurosciences after and then feel free to talk. Ignorance is loud, and these comments surely prove it

If I'm not mistaken, from April of this year I was taking Cymbalta, I took Cymbalta, and I also took Latuda, all of these to treat my OCD; my psychiatrist stopped the Latuda, and prescribed me Buspar (buspirone), kept the Cymbalta, and prescribed Risperidone. But I only took risperidone only once this year (2023), because I didn't like some of the adverse effects I felt, I also took buspirone, but it didn't help, I had the impression that I had gotten a little worse. Afterwards, under medical guidance, I started taking 180 mg of Cymbalta, in monotherapy, without association, I felt better taking Cymbalta at a dosage of 180 mg, but on the other hand, I felt a couple of effects that for me were not good, or maybe, I didn't want to, so I stopped taking Cymbalta; I'm currently taking sertraline, I started yesterday, and also Lorax (lorazepam).

After 10 years I’m feeling that I should start to reduce the current dosage = VENLAFAXINE 300mg/day, as I’m feeling VERY tired without will to do anything. Or I needed to find something natural to feed my brain with ‘noradrenaline’. I really appreciate any suggestions.

These "experts" are SO out of touch! They are absolutely clueless to the fact that they didn't actually pull Aspergers into the ASD diagnosis, but just erased a huge group of people from their radar screen. They didn't include us on the spectrum; they CANCELLED us. But we've reclaimed the term in the U.S. -- we are people with Asperger's, even if self-appointed "experts" close their eyes to us. We are SO thankful that the rest of the world still sees us! Especially older women with Asperger's, who were barely ever included to begin with. The rudeness with which adults have been treated when they make appointments to be assessed for ASD is absolutely unforgiveable as well. Testimony abounds in online Asperger's groups of how bewildered adults got snarled at & shamed for wondering if they were on the spectrum. Its because no one can bill for diagnosing Asperger's in the U.S. anymore, so these adults are thrown out, deleted just like the term was from the DSM-V. Not the least in the problems they now face is the hoards of predators out there who have realized those formerly known by the APA as people with Asperger's are easy targets, sitting ducks as it were. All the more so because too many people have mistaken Asperger's for personality disorders; if they aren't Aspies, they must be Narcissists -- so now "experts" control that conversation, scrubbing any post that mentions the two in a post. But it's a conversation that needs to be had from another perspective; every Aspie I know, around the world, has been abused by people with narcissistic or borderline traits. SHAME on the APA, and the USA, for marginalizing this entire class of people -- and then ripping the margins from the page.

Usually, anxiety depletes noradrenaline because of being too much on fight or flight all day long, it causes adrenal fatigue (sometimes), I find that beta blockers is the ultimate way to control it so it doesnt spike and impacts cognition, mood, heart etc. It has an important role but too much can cause your heart to elevate too much, presenting symptoms of fatigue, lethargy, depression and much more. So both extremes leads to poor life quality. Propranolol is what actually what really helped me and I had been suffering from GAD since I was 13 years old and I am know 34, it doesn't control thoughts, but the physical symptoms just vanishes, you can't even get yourself a panic attack even if you wanted to (i have the ability to do so), this will eventually lead to a better psychology, better thoughts pattern which can actually help so much to go over anxiety and enjoy your day without the fear of feeling like crap somewhere. Elevated heart rate due to Norepinephrine has the tendency to excarbate anxiety, Sertraline elevates serotonin and has dopamine binding affinities too in order to make you feel more comfortable and happy, which helps you to feel in control of your emotions. They both work in synergy its just crazy how the body is a perfect symphony, it just blows my mind.

So does SNRI increase norepinephrine? And is it good for GAD and SOCIAL ANXIETY?
@genji75362 жыл бұрын
It does anxiety and anti depression, it should help with social shyness, prestique or other drugs classed under,SNRI should be more effective then SSRI. But I'm only on NRI, I dont consider myself depressed but I notice if my serotonin levels are low it effects dopamine and Norepinehrine which causes co morbid symptoms of depression, its only from malnutrition of the brain synapses and body with active substance that can relief those symptoms. If it's related to adhd the medication for adhd helps but also herbs for adhd, like ginseng and vitamin D, I read up it's good to stimulate frontal lobe and limbic system. Problem in my country the adhd medication I'm on doesnt stimulate very well for females, it fails limbic system, so I have to take a lot of other medications, instead a 3 in one combo like adderal... what's ideal is less side effects for each drug you take that effects positively, I would prefer a drug that does d, S, N rather then just only dopamine. Does not always work if your levels are low, I dont want to take multiple medications all the time. If you have immune disorders like diabeties, insulin resistance, metabolic issues SNRI or NRI works to rebound negative effects such as depletion , depletion = horrible ass cycle of self medicating by binge eating or alchohol, nictotine... so many people are medicating that way, rather then a doctor diagnosing and treating an immune disorder/adrenal issues and kidney. I would actually recommend everyone to check up on auto immune disease or disorders, certain viruses in the body effects the body functions, which causes anxiety and stress on the person, best to keep it standstill then deal with symptoms. There is also no cure for what I got and I'm on hormonal tablets just to live a happy life. Better then ripping my head off lol. Final say I do think inflamation is involved with these flare ups and reactions, they can impact on a persons life, there are ways to reduce flare ups then you increase in other areas of the CNS. I have to do all of this to function otherwise I'm a vegetable from fatigue, chronic fatigue syndrome I've had this when I was 12, now with treatments I'm a lot better and feel energetic but I have to keep things scheduled. and staying active, both are first priority then just a normal diet. At first it's a lot of work but it takes a couple of years then it becomes easy, and then your able to go for a run, be more active/confident.

Seeking for help.. My bestie thinks she is suffering from bipolar...this hasn't been confirmed yet by a specialist though...but the symptoms are quite similar... She has had a major depressive phase..which lasted for more than an year... during which she took the most extreme step too but was fortunately saved...this was a few months back... But she's quite stable now.. in terms of having suicidal thoughts... Currently the thing is that her emotions aren't in her control...sometimes she just cries and cries literally for hours without any reason..and experiences severe headache too.. Also, there are a lot of mood swings...At a particular instant she will be very depressed, numb and cold..won't talk with anybody...and on the very same day after a few hours or on the next day she will be highly energetic and excited... Now the issue is that first of all we are in our teenage only....still at such a tender age too she is giving the best possible fight.... Secondly she hasn't informed her parents about her current symptoms for multiple reasons...as far as I have understood..the reason is she is a bit afraid of getting treated...and also she believes that if she will inform her parents then out of concern they'll start invading her privacy which she has been given currently... Another issue is that for some reasons neither can I inform them... I have been trying to convince her about informing her parents and seeking for professional help.. but she says she wants to wait.. Also..for some reasons I can't even meet her frequently...and worse...I will be going far away from her to another city in a few days.. So basically I stand almost helpless... one thing is for sure that professional help is absolutely necessary or else the condition might worsen... I don't know what to do and the only thing I could think of is seeking help through such platforms... I would be really very grateful if any professional or past sufferer can make me understand that how can I convince her for seeking professional help and also that how should I behave in her manic and low epsiodes so that I don't worsen the condition....
