X20 Smittybilt winches / Great BUT / IF they break there are NO Parts. I was told today that the solenoid i need, is in on a 60-90 day back order and not taking any more orders for the part. WHAT! Yea 30' of cable on the ground and NO parts. Fortunatly after tearing the front off my Truck to get to the winch solenoids, Yes you can override the solenoinds on the back side of the solenoind, by pushing in the rod. Been nice if Smittybilt shared this info with me. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Obouisly there going out of business !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I own a 2013 JKUR 10A. 62,000 miles. This vid is 4 years old now. It appears that i have some time left before I dive into a 100K maintenance! Not that much of what he is doing i have already done on upgrades. Nice series.

The warn was slower because of the gear ratio. But pulling the jeeps up a steep hill the warn would of been faster.

104k miles on the 13JKUR fully loaded here (minus remote start which I wish I had) and am in process of changing out almost all fluids as per service interval. Learned so much on youtube to make doing the work myself easier. Thank you for your video. For what it is worth, my jeep never had any issues. I drive with a light foot and use engine brake in the auto quite often. Had death wobble once then changed out rest of suspension components that was stock on my 35's with 3.5" lift. Surprised to find my diff oil not sludgy and no metal shavings in any of the magnets. Transfer case oil looks really good by sight. Waiting for a jack and jack stand to arrive today so i can get to the transmission filter. Not looking forward to change out PCV valve but since the manifold will be off for the spark plugs and coils replacement, it'll make that task a tad bit easier perhaps. Thank you for the video!

Since it's been awhile since you did these fixes, has it ultimately fixed the rattle issue? My JK with this bumper and carrier has the same rattle. Will be trying your tips.

Slower is better if the gear ratio is higher. I have a 410:1 ratio for a 17500 lbs winch and a 5hp motor. So I use less power, have higher capacity, and it is slower. But who should be in a hurry dealing with heavy machinery…? That is not smart.

I do my diffs & Transfer case every 25k miles, suck out and replace 2 quarts of ATF with every oil change.

My first step was removing the front wheels, then you take the bottom sway bar bolts out first, then you can move pivot the sway bar to get the top 2 bolts out nice and easy. Hi, to everyone who comes across this, I bought a Bosch 1/2" masonry bit at lowes for around $15 to $20. I just used a dewalt cordless drill and started slow using a little pb blaster to keep it lubed. I started slow till I made sure I was driling straight on low speed, then I turned it to high speed and went right through like nothing. First side took 5 minutes and the second side(drilling) was about a minute because I knew more what to do. Hope that helps. I also used blue loc-tight.

Try wrapping the bar with flexseal tape instead of the towel for a nice rubbery filler.

Thanks for the video! I just had the hesitation with the engine light/traction control mayhem happen yesterday. Watched your video, and bought the part for 21.99 at Autozone. Installing this am. p0339 code was confirmed when I scanned. You should have seen my face though when it went wonky in Phx rush hour traffic lol!

Like u, I am a newbie wincher that got stuck. My 2 cents worth is to put a few snatch blocks and tree straps into your recovery bag so that you can alter the angle of your pulls by using the blocks on a couple of trees wrapped with tree straps. Pulley physics also increases pull strength. And I found it easier to let the winch do the work…no need to hit the gas pedal. I’ve fixed some of my stupidity via experience and trial/error. I’ve gotten better at it, but can always learn more.

Never use four wheel low in heavy snow. Four wheel high, lock the rear axle and hit it with momentum and tires blasting.
@dbierman20019 ай бұрын
Too many people think 4low is good for mudding, or in this case getting through snow. Use 4 high and get the tires spinning to sling the snow/mud out and keep the treads clean, otherwise it's like having bald tires when the treads are packed with snow or mud.

so if you add a new accessory do you just have to hook it up to the box and it’s good?

Great video! The race was hilarious! I''ll take SB over Warn for 1/3 the price. With that big of a price difference warn should be significantly better in all aspects.

How much do you think you spent on fluids, a shop just quoted me $1200 for a full service for my 100k service. I much rather do it myself I’m just inexperienced and nervous to mess up my car but this leads me to believe I can’t mess up

Warn winches are hard to beat. Most all other brands don't last long. See how hot the motor got after use. Just bought a evo 10 .

First time I changed my manual transmission fluid, I had the same thing so I wouldn’t worry too much. What I will recommend is using amsoil syncromesh, I recently switched over and it shifts much smoother and feels less notchy. Thanks for the video.

I own a smitty and I own an older Warn I would have used the Warn but the new bumper on my new jeep didn't have a large enough opening to handle the Warn. They both are 12000lb but the Warn held a 135 feet of cable while the smitty held 90 feet. I hear some good and some bad about smitty so I hope it works when it's needed.

I picked up a 2012 Wrangler Sport a couple weeks ago with 103K miles for my son's 15th birthday. I've had all the fluids changed, the spark plugs and coils packs are most definitely next. Great video man, just what I was looking for.

Best info. Exactly what was happening with our JK. Probably the least expensive part on the JK, Mopar from the dealer, $32.99. Ten minute fi x for my 2013. After drive and restart, check engine light went off :)

Hi, thanks for the video. I'm changing my sensor out now, question please, how do you get the connector off the sensor? I watched a few other videos as well, and everyone says "just pop it off", but mine is on pretty tight and I don't want to break it. Any thoughts? Thank you!

How long did the autozone crankshaft position sensor last for you? I’m having the same problem, changed it 4 times in one year, and now yet again having the same problem.
@thetopher11263 жыл бұрын
Knock on wood, still going with the same one from that video. Sorry you're still having issue, not sure what's going on with that, I guess maybe try the OEM from dealer and see if that's it, hard to believe you've gone through so many and it's the CPS sensors that's the problem.
@Cambodimerican243 жыл бұрын
I really enjoyed and appreciate you sharing this video. I wonder if the process is the same as far as the transmission fluid change since I’m running an auto tranny. None of the maintenance procedures seem too complicated aside from the spark plug/coil replacement with having to remove the entire plenum to get to the driver’s side. Look forward to more jeep videos!

Aspen trees have no roots. Line direction is everything. If you had a pully block or two, you could better control where you ended up. This is also a classic example of why having a front-mounted winch really limits what you can get out of. You really needed a backwards pull. It can be done with a front winch but requires a lot more gear and line to pull off. Cradle winch FTW.
@scottsime51973 жыл бұрын
I mean you waited till 90,000 miles and change your transmission fluid yeah your doing damage to the Trans. Every 30,000 miles max between changes..why did you remove the alternator to change the belt, you don't have to..and you never use aftermarket parts for coils, plug wires, or anything electronic. And while making videos turn off the music!
