I am doing my first swap. Ls3/6L80E in a 03'Crown Vic Police Interceptor. I took a L94 block and turned it into a Ls3. Brand new flat top pistons. Everything but the crank is new. I put a BTR Stage2 V2 221/24× .619/.617 113 LSA. I've seen dynos from 537 to 565 horse at the crank. Good deal brother!!!

Does metal tape work better than wax paper?
@mayermotorsports2 ай бұрын
Honestly, I’m not sure. It probably releases just a little bit better but with the metal tape having a side that adhesive it gives me a little bit more versatility. There’s all kinds of options you can use though.

Love all the videos please keep it up. But on this last video where you have covered all the holes on the firewall. The spot where the heater core goes for the vintage air you should cut that back out. I have the same system and it works well but every so often ( so far twice in the last year the aluminum line that goes to the heater core, some how gets loose and drips antifreeze in the passenger side footwell . I have been able to repair and service it from the firewall side by taking off the metal plate they provide. Love the car coming out amazing 👍🏻

Does it scream like an ls3?
@mayermotorsports3 ай бұрын
Yes, it does everything in LS three would do with a big cam in it. If you look at my other video of the first start up, you’ll hear it with side pipes. And then if you look at my shorts, you’ll see one of me driving it down the road.
@fnafplayer64473 ай бұрын
@mayermotorsports you probably saved me so much money it's ridiculous lol. Always loved the ls3 since it is such a boost happy engine and has that scream to it similar to the ls7. But the ls7 of course is stupid expensive lol. Is there something similar with the ford gt's 5.4l and the navigator 5.4l. I have seen navigators with long tubes and x pipes even and still can't get the scream that the ford gt and cobra r have?

Question Why didn’t you just buy the whole l88 flared fender/ 1/4 panel kit as a whole ? Great work and lots of good information keep up the good work 🤣
@mayermotorsports4 ай бұрын
The flares from custom image Corvettes do come essentially as an entire quarter panel from the bonding strip down. You still have to cut and fit them and this is the route I chose. They fit relatively well and if I didn’t really insist on moving the wheel out, it would’ve cleared and I wouldn’t have had to cut anything. Unfortunately, I do not like wheels buried in fenders and lowered to the ground so I had to make the change myself. Apparently, I like creating more work lol

It's been fun watching your progress! I wish I was younger...I'd probably try to flare the fenders on my '73! I did want to ask a favor of sorts of you though...I want to change the hood on my car to the L82 hood also, and because mine is a later car, I have the long hood already. I was wondering if you could either make a short vid, or at least give some info on the challenges you have had making the aftermarket hood fit. I want to do this, but I'm a little intimidated about the amount of "fitment" I might have to do to make it fit. Any info would be appreciated.

That’s great, let me see what I can do and I’ll see if I can put something short together can help. My car is a little unique and a sense. We do a little homework and see what I can put together.

biden wants to End the Regular Cars and Trucks, anything that runs on gas. Instead of fitting the chassis with new designs. I Say Bring Back ALL the Old Styles on All the new Electric cars. When GM's sales were down on the Corvette I think they should have Brought back The Legendary Mako stingray shark instead of Copying a Foreign Car Companies designs. I know for a Fact there's been times Lamborghini or Ferrari or Audi an.. so on have had meetings on how to get more sales. I bet no one said.. Oh I Know... Let's Copy A GM Or Ford Car Companies design. GM does that all the time. What ever is selling the best. GM will copy some parts of it. One of the sexiest Trucks I've ever seen was a GTO Front grill and headlights and Chevy Body. F..king Badass Truck. Change a couple things here and there instead of copying a foreign car company's design. I wish they would have put a patent on the rear engine design

Use tire straps for securement, easier and lets the car move up and down with the road. Better than binding the suspension down. Also any VIN stamps on the frame? Should be two, one on left rear wheel arch and other on right front behind wheel.
