I love the part where Debra bites Ray’s left ear 👂 while pretending to be sexually frisky! He totally deserves that for being a very crappy husband, father and a lazy man-child. 💯 Best part of that episode!

Many ELR fans consider this episode to be controversial and somewhat hated because for obvious reasons. 😅😅 Though, some people find this episode to be hilarious. I find it both funny and cringy/uncomfortable. There are some funny moments, like when Robert is explaining about the gang signs and the deaf guy. Even though the actors did a great job of making a very dysfunctional situation over making faux pas on the poor janitor. Earlier was fine until, of course as always, trouble was brewing when Marie barged into the house. At the end of the episode was funny but so true when Amy said “Did Marie make everything worse again?” 🤣🤣🤣 But Amy didn’t know that Marie was behind the door and Marie slowly closes it, makes her appearance with that look on her face which says “I’ll remember that.” Marie’s truly an evil wolf in sweet old lady’s clothing, lol!

First season is all bout finding their feet, and feeling out the audience’s reactions. Ratings are studied obsessively to find the show’s weak spots and strengthen them. That will include the opening sequence, as viewers can tune out of newer shows in the first ten seconds, if you don’t hold their attention. Phil Rosenthal from the get-go wanted to cement the show as a Classic in the making. His goal was worldwide syndication, from the first episode.

So let me get this straight: Debra’s parents are sexually crazy together while Ray’s parents are emotionally and insanely yet passive-aggressively crazy together. 😅😅😅 What about Amy’s parents? Oh, yeah, both Hank and Pat are stress-coping together by making “gosh-darn heck of a noises” by blowing stolen fireworks 🧨 and smoking with cigarettes 🚬, lol!

In other words, Ray’s the lazy and immaturely childish version of Norman Bates, lol! 😂😂😂 What’s even funnier at the end Robert comes over, seemingly apologizing for mocking Ray the day before (Ray said he liked to be taken care of, and Debra said "But you've gotta understand, Ray, that's not a wife, that's a mother." Ray: "Well maybe that's what I want!"). But then he says he got Ray something, and hauls in a giant cardboard cutout of Marie in a wedding dress. *Robert: Enjoy, ya sick bastard!*

The actor who played the math teacher 🧑‍🏫 did a really great job of portraying a very mean jerk kind of teacher. Also to know, Ally’s crush on a boy is only parental concern, but her receiving a passing grade is a concern of both the teacher and the parent. By the way, the scene where Ally opens up to Debra: lol 😂😂😂 • Ally: “Are all boys stupid?” • Debra: “Yes…?”
@MARTalks
@MARTalks 2 ай бұрын
Considering it’s what’s affecting the passing grade and taking place primarily in his classroom it is still partially the teachers concern. Not to the same degree, but it’s not something he should wholesale dismiss like it’s an inconvenience.

At the end of the episode, Debra’s mother whispered in her ear about Ray and both of them looked disappointingly at him. Ray 😐 then said, “Deb, there’s something I gotta tell you...your mother has *never* like me.” I wanting to know for so long, Deb’s mother never like her husband in the first place? Because it’s kind of obvious, Ray comes from a dysfunctional family. R.I.P. Deb’s mother, Lois (Katherine Helmond) Earlier from the episode: While the material around it is funny, Lois's sudden *"The Reason You Suck"* speech to Ray, when he rejects her English tea party idea in favor of Debra's Chinese banquet idea, isn't: Lois: *Let's be honest. You're so uncomfortable around me. You never say more than two words. And it seems like whenever we are together, you'll do just about anything to get away from me. I mean, ugh, what am I supposed to think? You-you don't like me, you don't like my ideas. I just wish it were different between us.*

The in-laws relationship insanity between the Barones and the Whelans is crazy. I’m somewhat glad Ray did his best to stop their physical and annoyed excuses. It’s just a simple Christmas family photo.

This is one of the most episodes of the show where I don’t like Marie because she’s super despicable. I can see this Marie’s resistance to being called “mom” by Debra stems from her complex and possessive relationship with her son, Ray. Marie feels a sense of ownership and exclusivity over her role as Ray’s mother, and she perceives Debra calling her “mom” as an intrusion into that special bond.

I saw the Graves era 2x and the Jerry era 3x. I got to meet all Jerry, Dez and Robo and they signed my tour poster. Devils Rain title track is pretty good. I bought the Coke bottle splatter vinyl & orange vinyl when the album first came out.

Solid review Mario. I was underwhelmed by this film. I certainly didn't hate it but I expected it to be so much better. It felt pretty standard to me. The parts where Logan was being sentimental and discussing his feelings were my favorite. Another highlight for me was seeing a certain Marvel character cameo. In terms of order, I would say that I like the films in release order thus far.

You know it’s actually interesting, I subscribe to another KZbinr named Amy McLean who is slowly reviewing this series as well and is up to season 2 at this point in time. It’s so great watching the show now for the first time now. I never entirely grew up with it but I remember watching a lot of episodes off and on. Such a brilliant set of characters and setting. Debra and Marie are easily my favourite characters. Patricia Heaton is incredible I think!

If I remember correctly, I got the Kane Hodder autograph back around 2013 or 2014 at Rock & Shock. The picture of me with him was from 2010 at my first convention. He was the second person I met. The first being the Wizard Master Ira Heiden from Nightmare 3.

LOL..... Karma!! The backstory was that somebody in the cast or on the set bought a Rainbow vacuum cleaner! They loved it so much that they refer to other people in the cast and on the set to see the presentation! At that point the writers decided to put it into the show & script! It was a big deal for all us out there that sold rainbows! We knew that you know all this was things that we had dealt with the mother-in-law that didn't think that the daughter-in-law was good enough for her son! It was an awesome episode if you lived it! 🤣👍🏻
