Hi, nice unboxing, I just have one question, you wanted to turn on the head and it didn't work, it had no light and no sound?and when you finished assembling it, it worked?

@@TiffanyTiffany In our case we have not assembled it, we tested the head by inserting the batteries but the lights and the sound do not turn on, so we have the doubt if it is a defect of this or it only works if it is assembled completely.

It doesn't need to be put together to work. I've seen so many problems with the motion detectors in these. At this point, I've seen more cases of them not working.

My regular stain is smearing the gel stain. Maybe it didn't dry for long enough??? Any ideas on how to prevent the smearing?
@TiffanyTiffany
@TiffanyTiffany 8 ай бұрын
Hello, Leslie! Is your regular stain the lighter color? If so, put that on first and let it dry for a good while. I usually let mine sit for 24 hours. Then put your your stencil on and dab your gel on. I hope this helps :)

gonna be a hell of a lot more than 200 dollars now. half inch pvc pipe is 4.79 plus tax for one 10 foot piece. 1 x 2 boards are 2 dollars each. spray paint is 8 dollars per can. and screws would be 30. your now looking at 350 to 400 dollars to do what you did. nobody is going to pay that much anymore. your fence looks good. but i make mine a little fancier.

Great easy to follow video! One thing I did different to make the fence seem like old and rusted was when I painted the fence with spray paint starting with black I sprinkled dry dirt (not sand) but dirt on the paint when it was wet so the dirt would stick to it then spray painted with the flat rust colored rustoleum and then added the dry dirt again. It's more labor intensive but it really looks like it's old and rusted. Do a small section not the whole fence so you are working with wet spray paint and you can get the technique down before you try and do an larger section.

I used to live in Fairborn and my kids always begged to go to Foy’s. They had a Capuchin monkey at the time and you could buy dumdums and give them to the monkey. It was my daughter’s favorite thing to do.

I love your column and fence videos and plan to recreate both next year with a couple of changes. I am going to eliminate the plywood to lighten up the load and use solar lights so I don't have to wire them. If that fails, plan B is to follow your instructions. Your ideas translate easily (unlike some other channels) and your humor is spot on! I forgot, I also plan to use drylock paint instead of the cement to finish the columns because I have previously used that and the foam headstones are now about eight or ten years old and still going strong. I actually found that by accident while waterproofing our basement. I made a huge spider this season, Miss Charlotte (named by my husband), by taking an empty horse feed bag, rolling it in a ball, duct taping it all over, then adding large bubbled bubble wrap that I received free from a garage sale site, then I made a smaller one for the head, I bought foam for basement pipe insulation from Lowe's, ran a length of wire in the legs and used duc tape to form the claws, then I gathered the 4 lengths of foam with duct tape in the middle and attached it to the underside of the spider. Covered her in canned foam like you used on the column, going side to side until her was covered. The only problem I had was the foam wanted to slide off the bubble wrap so for my next one I plan to paste newspaper on the bubble wrap, then foam it. For her fangs I took two strands of foam and dipped them in blood red acrylic paint She looks awesome, even if I do say so myself. I watched three of your videos and had to subscribe! Thanks for the incredible ideas!

lol you make me feel so much better about my projects...they basically go the same way as yours. But for temporary projects like Halloween I've learned to plan them to minimize waste. e.g. plywood is expensive where I live so it would be cut 2 by 4 feet and since rough 2x4's are cheap here they would just be cut to whatever length

Nice walk-through, I particularly like the way you created a jig to ease assembly. I have a couple suggestions to improve the longevity and reduce the recurring maintenance for this prop: - Use inexpensive cedar 2"x3" fence rails instead of pine. Cedar resists rot and insects better than pine, is usually lighter weight, and depending on availability, cedar is often less expensive than similarly sized 2"x3" pine rails. - Before installing the PVC pipe pickets wrap a piece of 120-grit or 150-grit sandpaper around the picket, and pull the PVC tube through the sandpaper to rough up the smooth surface. Straight through or with a twisting motion work well. The paint will adhere better, reducing year-to-year touch-ups. The majority of the 30-panel fence prop I built in 2006 is still in service, and I've only had to replace three sections in the last 15-years.
