Very nice video. I have both these carriers, but I find I use the Harbor Freight more, primarily because the Blackstone is heavy, even empty ( the removable handle is overbuilt and probably weighs a pound) and the pockets are really sized specifically for the Blackstone gear. I think the Blackstone is nice, but overpriced. I always add a cut down ( narrow top area removed) plastic rectangular 1/ 2 gallon juice bottle to hold and store USED spatulas, etc upright , to keep the carriers clean. I usually run a short bungee cord through a roll of paper towels and hook it horizontally to the handle rings.

Shoutout to Dave for this video. I have been trying to figure out a pizza oven solution that didn’t involve buying one. Using the grill in the way you showed is a game changer. Just made my best pizza using this technique. Thank you sir.

These are ok but not fantastic as many people say. You need to crank p the heat as they take awhile to heat up. i like using the griddle side better.

That Blackstone caddy has some odd and disappointing design decisions. I suspect they will get some feedback and come out with a new model. They put a lot of emphasis on using only Blackstone accessories which is limiting. The side compartments are sagging from day one. The handle awkwardly attaches inside where it blocks items. The webbing has no lower edge to limit the tools from traveling down. No dedicated storage for the most common items: spatula, tongs, thermometer. They just wrapped a milk crate in nylon fabric and put it out there. Any weekend griddle guy couldn’t design a more usable tote. The fact that the Harbor Freight tool bag does a better job at less than half the price is further proof that some people will buy ANYTHING they slap a Blackstone label on

Very nicely done. I love the idea of the grill grates. If i may suggest, place a damp paper towel or rag under your cutting board. It will keep your cutting board from sliding. Keep up the great work.

Great video and great instruction. I’m going to do this with my griddle that after a couple years is starting to pit a little bit. It’s still slick but this should do it wonders. Thanks for sharing with us!

Damn. Maybe I should have done this instead of stripping my griddle. Had a lot of peeling seasoning. Maybe could have just sanded it out and reseasoned.

What a great idea! I'd suggest use stainless steel screws and washers so they don't rust as easily. Also add a lock washer so the handle doesn't come loose. And if you can't find a "T" handle, a regular round ball or flat handle would work as well. Would putting a layer of aluminum foil to cover the saucer make a difference in heating? I'm worried that some debris might fall off the saucer and land on the pizza?

I just got an even embers tabletop grill from a tractor supply for $40 on sale. I wish they had one of these. 20 extra for an ash drawer would be worth it.

Does this stop all the flare ups? Do you ever have issues where the grease still catches fire under the plates? On the grease catch even?
@NextWithDave Жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and especially for taking time to comment! I can't say this stops ALL flare ups. But it reduces them a lot. Depends on how greasy the food is. For example, I would not cook bacon on them but 80/20 burgers are great. Steaks are great. Chicken is great. They will make the grill seem hotter and you will have a more even temperature. The grill marks are better and grill marks add flavor. I think you'll like them!!

Thank you for watching and especially for taking time to comment! The piece you see is called The GrillGrate Griddle and Defrost Plate. Use the grill grate link in the video description and look for it. Definately super useful and gives you a flat surface without the holes and now you have a griddle on your grill! Thanks!

Seen a dozen of set ups but yours looks the one most thought through. Following the 15th bar cut as that will give me just a littte more space for a family of 4. That grill oven thing, need to find it in th EU. I am carrying pots and pans to the campsite, so I think I will replace that for an iron lunchbox (mess tin) stuffed with pre-made rubs, knife etc, so I only need meat & separate the eating things from fire things. Knowing the misses these things end up last to pack and "wont fit"...
