Went up there today to pay respects. Left my wildland firefighter patch and USFS flash. Tidyied things up a bit. Still covered with coins and copenhagen tins. He is not forgotten.

I never had the pleasure of serving with Chance, because the Corps saw fit to make me a P.O.G. However, I did have the honor and the privilege of being the bunk right next to his in bootcamp in 2nd Bn, Fox Co., Platoon 2008, in the summer of 2003. Chance and I found every opportunity to put his practical joke skills to great use. Here it is, 19 years after his death, and I still feel like I've been gut punched on April 9th. I miss you everyday, brother! Til Valhalla! Keep the streets secure in Heaven, buddy. Semper Fi!

My Grandfather was a radio operator during Normandy. He was also a firefighter who won a heroism award for bravery when he rescued 3 people from a burning house while he was off duty. I never knew him as he died before he was born. He died at age 57. The same age I am today.

When I first read the journal of colonel Strobl I was reading through a web site about a ship I was stationed on in the early seventies. The USS Tulare LKA 212. A marine and cargo transport (Amphib Fleet). The only other military journal that has given me that much emotion was reading the journal of Dr. Haynes. The medical officer and survivor of the USS Indianapolis after delivering the bombs that ended WW II. I was torpedoed and sunk in shark infested waters.

I know this is WAY too late. I just had the exact same issue with mine. It was the duel stepper motor. I replaced it and this issue went away. Sorry this is a necro-post but I spent a lot of time troubleshooting this issue.

Yeah it was the Y axis stepper motor. It was damaged in shipping.

Have you gotten to use yours much without issue ever? I think I like my 5 plus less than any other off brand printer I've ever had including a monoprice that died on me

Mine is currently down again, hot end issues that I caused. My monoprice maker select v2 is a couple of years older and has had way less issues. The customer service was way better too

I think I have watched this film a hundred times. It is true to Mike's story. Kevin Bacon did a tremendous job of portraying Mike and the screenwriter stuck to the script. I will always shed tears for our brave men and women in uniform who have lost their lives.

Omg.....R.I.P Chance and I know this is too late but I guess late better than not at all....🙏🙏 May your family be at peace....and THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE 💯🇺🇲👍🤝 I am from Riverton Wyoming and I remember when they brought him home and that was the saddest day I will always remember. I had a friend that was a U.S.M.C and I lost her but in a car accident on the Camp Pendleton..U S.M.C Base. The reason I'm writing this today is because I seen this movie on an ad. I was told about this movie"Taking Chance" and I started to watch it but couldn't watch more cuz this war hero is from my hometown and I cried. I'm so proud of him for taking his life to save his brothers in arms. I solute him as well as the Lt.
