I stopped going regularly on Sundays around Thanksgiving. Throughout 2024, I had a feeling that I no longer fit in anymore in the community I've been in throughout college and years beyond. I cannot associate myself with other men who are into MAGA (especially holding extreme views like "Women shouldn't be able to vote"), believe in conspiracy theories, think "Capitalism is the greatest system of all time" (meanwhile, a lot of people are behind in their rent because landlords keep raising the rent), etc. When the election happened, that feeling just got worse.

I think a good idea to add to wake up look up would be to suggest solutions we as a people can do to contribute. Maybe giving us a credible source to donate to or credible articles to read to give us some knowledge on each subject. Something along the lines of “Here is the problem in the world and here is what we as christians can do to help.”

Love for what is good necessitates hate for what is bad. If you want justice you can't just pray for it, you have to fight for it. Both Christians and Muslims understood this during the Crusades, but it seems that Christianity has since lost its way.

I remember I saw Jesus in the clouds at my grandfathers house up in the hills of Tuscany, and he died 2 weeks later. I remember looking out the window and I could not believe my eyes, I called my grandma and cousin and they saw Him too. He was surrounded by other people, I think they might have been angels. It was early during the sunset, the sky looked beautifully golden with hazes of blue and red. There were 3 or 4 people on one side and 3-4 more on the other side of the clouds, they met each other and everything happened quite quickly, then the clouds covered the whole thing and then there was only the sky. My cousin said he doesn't remember this, maybe it was too early for him, we were quite young, but seeing something like this is crazy not to remember. Jesus is real, God is real. At 32 years old I am finally acknowledging Jesus and what a tremendous act of sacrifice He did to cover our sins. Thank you my Father, thank you forever and ever. I love you deeply.

I do my own cooking. I do my own cleaning. I do my own laundry. I do my own housework. I do my own repairs. I pay all my own bills. In fact, I do EVERYTHING as a functional adult and would rather do it myself that listen to an ingrate complain about "division of labor".

I think this conversation would be much more beneficial in understanding what type of a home a married couple has. If they have an apartment then there is very little that needs to be fixed or outside work that needs to be maintained. If they have a property with 2 acres I would imagine the same group that did the study would find out that men on average do three times as much fixing issues wrong with the home or property and do three times as much of the work outside. Also statistically it would only make sense to do this type of study if you understood the daily work performed by each spouse outside the home. Stay at home mom and wife would obviously do more of the housework than a husband working 50 hours a week outside of the home to provide for his family. Statistically men in marriages work outside the home more hours than women do. So once again this particular study about housework is weak and does not carry much benefit unless you add in those other stats about type of home and husbands working more hours outside the home on average.

Congratulation , excellent sir. Yes Jesus is a real true God. Jesus is the real Allah of everything. If Christ would have revealed directly that he is God, it would have been terrifying human beings. He became a man just to be loved by man. That's God's plan only. Thank God for that. Christ's resurrection, witnessed by thousands of people in Jerusalem would also convert thousands of muslims and others to accept Christ as their God to. Only God can rise from the death. Only Jesus rose from his death no body else. Lots of miracles Jesus had done when he still lived in Jerusalem . All His miracles proved Him a true Living God. All must turn to Jesus, the God of love, peace,hope and mercy. Only Jesus taught the people to love their enemies as they love themselves. The none Christian religions would teach people with teeth for tat. Horrible !

All the comments about the health care system in America but it's more than that the entire corporate economy in America is the problem it seems like we're all just another customer and it doesn't seem to matter if we are properly served or if we get what we are paying for the attitude of corporate America is you'll take what we offer and pay for it because there's no other viable alternatives or options we've sold our souls to the corporations with a no refund clause

A wise minister once said we should be as smart as a cow. Chew the hay and spit out the sticks. Nobody gets all their theology right. I, you, and Peterson are not right about everything. Some of us are closer to the truth than others. Some think they have it all figured out but are dead wrong. Some entire Christian denominations are farther from the truth than Peterson. We should approach all teachers Cristian or otherwise with humility, wisdom, and a bit of skepticism.

Have to agree with you, and I am a fan and frequent listener of Jordan Peterson, and have even, as you say, paid money to go to one of his talks on his recent We Who Wrestle With God tour, which I found curiously disappointing having been "wrestling with God" for 50 years now and found his words to have no bearing whatsoever on my experiences or my understanding. This brings to mind Spurgeon's suggestion that true discernment involves knowing the difference, not between right and wrong but between right and almost right. But I think Peterson's attraction to believers, myself especially, comes as a result of the fact that our churches and pastors are no longer equipped to delve deeper into the elements of our Faith, or the Scriptures, and, only capable of repeatedly addressing the elementary doctrines and emphasizing elements of the faith that are of the lesser eternal value than what is needful ("Praise and Worship" comes to mind) we find ourselves spiritually malnourished without knowing why and seek out spiritual satisfaction in other areas. The problem isn't Jordan Peterson but the vapidity of the current Evangelical Church.

This is just a problem with Protestantism. I am paet of a large and vaired community of protestants who all complain about their pastors not tackling deep or controversial topics. This is absolutely not the case in the original Catholic Church, where all of these denominations branched away from. You, personally, can return at any time. There will be a welcome for you as with the prodgical son.

JP is big on telling others to tell the truth, but he plays word games when people ask him if he's a Christian. His theologocial teaching aligns with Judaism more than Christianity. I like him, but he misses the big point. Also, he sometimes uses a lot of words to say nothing. He can be too arrogant to see his stupidity, because his vocabulary is great. But, also, he's incredibly motivating if you use him for psychology. I used to listen to him while in the gym and could go harder than any other time.
@khatack28 күн бұрын
JP is hesitant to announce his belief in Christ because unlike the vast majority of Christians, apparently you included, he actually understands the gravity of such an announcement. He is a God fearing man, again, unlike the vast majority of so called Christians, and he knows God is watching. As far as Judaism is concerned, Jesus didn't come here to nullify the Old Testament, he came here to fulfill it. Most Christians treat those two as if they were the same thing, but they are NOT. There's a reason the Old Testament is included in the Holy Bible.

Of course his goal is to defend the heads of greedy corporations, they make up the majority of his congregation. If he were to go against a rich person this church's main revenue source would be at risk! As Jesus said "You can't grow the kingdom if you're preaching to poor people!"

Pastor Zach…Well stated… We as Christians need to be Salt & Light amongst both believers and non believers. If we completely avoid philosophers and teachers outside of the faith, how will we know how to stand for the Truth of Gospel. We indeed can listen to lectures and talks from others, even those opposed to Christianity, but we need to be attentive to The Word (the Bible) as our Final authority as we listen or engage with them.
@espi3324Ай бұрын
Solid take on JP. Been listening to him for years but he’s missing that last and final piece which is submission to Christ. He’s getting there.
