Hey man, loved the video but I’m having some trouble getting some true professional sound on Presonus, after I record and add plugins to it it still sounds so fuzzy and not crisp how an album would sound, is this because I need the soothe plugin? Or do I need to add a bus for each guitar, I’ve been playing 15 years and I’ve had Presonus for 3 years but for some reason I can’t get that crisp crisp tone! Thank you man! Love the info

Lower the gain of your instrument channel (of your audio interface) to 0 and then start recording. If you need more info about proper gain staging your audio interface before recording DI, do some research. ;)

As cool as this tutorial is, you mislead by saying your doing it in Studio one 6. If you used stock plugins it would truly be Studio One 6. However, using all the 3rd party plugins, you should specify in ANY DAW format be it S1, Reaper, GarageBand etc. I came here for a comprehensive tutorial using stock plugins. Not everyone can afford expensive 3rd party plugins. Granted, the exception that Soundtoys is reasonable. Try doing this with just stock plugins for a comparision. That would be interesting.

Hi, how did you do this without any EQ (except the high pass filter a a little bit of air on the high frequencies)? This is the first time I see something like this. I wish I could have the same quality recordings. :)
@bobvaro
@bobvaro 8 ай бұрын
Glad you liked the video! There's this misconception with some producers that you have to pile on loads of plugins and tweak every frequency. But for me, it's all about adding that sweet character with some harmonic distortion and using plugins like Decapitator from SoundToys or a good Pultec plugin. It’s important to start trusting your ears! 🎶

Honestly i still after 5 or 6 years have trouble with this.. i don't know whether its GGD or studio one or its just me... round and around i go trying to route a snare that doesn't come out of channels 1-10 or i add aux channels and it gives me 64 of them... lol. i love ggd and studio one but my god its a pain to reroute
@bobvaro

I agree with you, it's very complex but once you have it figured out, you can save your Studio One session as a preset to speed up the process so you don't have to start from scratch all the time.

Hey my friend, when i "solo" the midi channel, no sound going to audio track...what im doing wrong? thanks
@bobvaro
@bobvaro 9 ай бұрын
Opting to solo a track will automatically mute all other tracks. You can either solo both your MIDI and audio tracks together as a group, or you can activate 'solo safe' mode for your audio track by holding down the Shift key and clicking the solo button on the audio channel until it turns green. I trust this explanation provides greater clarity. If you still encounter any challenges, kindly inform me of the specific issue you are experiencing, and I'll be glad to assist further.

When you record your electric guitar, do you record a dry recording or wet recording, or do you do both? I know some mixing and mastering producers want to have both recordings. If you do a dry recording, can you add the amp plug-in into each channel after you have recorded it? Also when you record the electric guitar, at what volume level do you put your volume on your guitar or do you just use the volume level on the audio interface or do you use both volumes? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks for making such a great video.
@bobvaro
@bobvaro 11 ай бұрын
Sure thing! I'm glad to assist with your questions. Firstly, I recommend recording a DI track through a plugin. This approach allows you to make adjustments to the sound later on. If you're confident about the sound and want to save some CPU power or maintain focus during the mixing process, you can bounce the track in place and disable the other channel with the DI track and plugin. You have the flexibility to use any amp plugin on any DI track at any time, which is beneficial for re-amping and experimentation. When recording your guitar, ensure that the volume is fully open and doesn't clip on your interface. For this purpose, using the HI-Z input is advisable. I hope this information proves helpful, my friend!

Hold up.. if you think about it, all EQ plugins do the same thing as all compressors. If it's a stock or 2nd, 3rd party plugins. Everyone has their favorite or go to plugin. Doesn't matter, in my opinion.
@AlbertNorris
@AlbertNorris 11 ай бұрын
@@terrytimberlake8926 I realize that's your opinion. But I don't think it's correct. If it were, there would be no need for 3rd party plugins. Engineers would own only one e.q. and one compressor. That is, if they really all do exactly the same thing.
