I use the official perler beads, but I know there's other options, like Walmart sells another melting beads brand. Sorry this was a year late response!

How were you able to use your Mii from Miitomo on your channel icon if Miitomo is gone?
@wiiitsmii86844 ай бұрын
On the last days that Miitomo was available, I made sure to get as many photos for a profile that I could. There was an option on the app where you could pose your mii with any background.

I don't get it. Did you iron one side while it had the tape? And did you iron the same side again after you put the parchment paper on both sides? I'm confused...
@wiiitsmii86844 ай бұрын
I wouldn't suggest ironing the side with tape, because you could risk burning your house down lol jk. I ironed the non-tape side, then flip it over and remove the tape from the other side. Hopefully this makes sense!

How do You get the beads on the tape with out moving it that’s all I’m confused about. Thanks!
@wiiitsmii86843 жыл бұрын
Try to keep both steady hands with the tape and place it with enough room on the left/right side and bottom of the tape that doesn’t touch any of the beads. And when you place the first tape just right, go over it with your finger making sure the tape is sticking to the beads so they don’t move afterwards. Once you have that first row, overlap another piece of tape on it that goes over halfway of the previous tape and new rows of beads. Not sure if that makes sense but you just gotta be patient. If you want I could make a video just on placing the tape so you can visually see what I’m trying to explain. Hope this comment helps tho.

At the beginning of the video I try to show all the parts of the turtle that you need to make. I probably could have made it a bit clearer, so I apologize on that end. If you need to see all the parts and where they go in full detail, I have a pdf on my website.

I wish I could tell you, but my iron has the settings faded away. If anything, I keep it medium heat. Just make sure you keep ironing in circles till you get the beads to melt to the point you need them to melt. Should be fine. :)

Nice video! Your Raphael turned out great. I was wondering if I could get some advice? So you melt one side until you see that the beads are sticking to the paper or wait till the holes close up on one side and then flip the pattern and take the tape off and melt the other side till the holes close? What setting do you have your iron on btw? Sorry, for so many questions it's just sometimes it's a bust for me with tape method and I can't get the holes to close up all the way and end up getting a tiny hole here and there in my creation :(
@wiiitsmii86844 жыл бұрын
So first I melt one side (side without tape) just till they are fusing enough, not closed up. Once they're melted enough to the point where the beads won't fall off, I put it under weight and let it cool for about 5-10 minutes. After that, I flip it over and take off the tape. Then I melt it till everything is closed off on that side. I mean sometimes I get tiny holes here and there (mainly on the edges) but not too bad. My iron is on medium I think, not sure because I can't read what it says anymore lol. I think it also takes some practice. Still have yet to perfect my technique as well lol
@dillanmatney99584 жыл бұрын
Awesome!! Thank you thank you and awesome Bub and Bob btw ended up looking really good. I've been trying to figure out how to get the Perler beads to sit in a stand having them in the melt method thought it wouldn't work but I'm glad it does and I will be doing this to for my future creations

Instead of poking the holes manually one by one, poke a starter row, then use a pegboard. Line up the pegboard with the row you punched, press down hard till you feel it puncture the tape, and volia, all done perfect holes

What paper do you use. We use wax paper and it always leaves some stuck to our beads when we are done and it’s extremely annoying
@wiiitsmii86845 жыл бұрын
You know what, I've been using the ironing paper they sell along with the perler beads, like at Jo-anns/Michaels, and they haven't stuck to the anything so far. I will say though that some come folded, and the fold creases sometimes transfer over to the perler beads and make some wrinkles. So, I haven't found the best paper to use. But the perler bead ironing paper does not stick!
Also I just realized they sell paper rolls of this product, so there wouldn't be any folding issues with the roll one. Here's the link: www.joann.com/ironing-paper-roll/14396469.html#q=perler%2Bbead%2Bpaper&start=1
