Robots to work? Yes. Where it is dangerous for humans or where superhuman abilities are needed. A robot that operates with an accuracy of hundredths of a millimeter? Yes. If nothing extraordinary happens and there is no need to quickly change the procedure, then probably yes. Robot in the kitchen? Nonsense.

"Reduced labour costs", although some of the robots were impressive none of them looked like they could function without someone there to fill up the ingredient hops or clean up spills from the floor and they would all appear to cost more than three human servers would be paid in a year and have to employ a team of skilled in technology to keep them going. The least impressive of all the robots featured in this showreel was the Tesla Optimus that is so far from Musk's claim to be the most advanced robots and to perform relies 100% on smoke and mirrors and even then it is underwhelming. If a robot's purpose is to serve drinks why make it in the form of a humanoid, rather than the Yor Nataki(6:56) mechanical form?

There is a basic "law" of robotics. You can either build a robot for functionality, or you can build a robot for aesthetics. Because of the limitations of mechanical engineering, you cannot do both. If you design a robot with a pleasing human like appearance. The design priority is placed on keeping that appearance and all the mechanical systems within it, have to be scaled down to fit within the exterior, sacrificing functionality. Most of these robots shown, are made exhibition purposes only, able to do a wide range of tasks very poorly. Although there are a couple in there, which look more functional. I would imagine those robots could do a limited set of tasks, very well. Although, from their appearance, I'm guessing that cooking wasn't their intended purpose they were designed for originally.

@@TrevorIedieman That is the point. Humanoid Robots are generally built as a means to develop practical robots, unless it is Musk who wants to con people that he is going to build a robot in a couple of years that could function as a butler. Look at all the automation in a car assembly plant, how many of the robots look human, they each perform a series of repetitive tasks with very little deviation. Boston Dynamic's spot, resembles a dog but is designed dog like so it can navigate rough terrain and multi levels, if it was intended to operating in a smooth flat environment wheels would be far more efficient for the same reason cars have wheels and not tracks or legs.
@TrevorIedieman2 сағат бұрын
@ Boston dynamics took a different approach. They just wanted to develop a quadrupedal robot for utility purposes, and it just ended up that they could in fact make appear dog like once their goals were met. It's functional, and sturdy, able to do a limited number of things, but do them well. Elon started off, with an man dancing in a robot costume, then told his engineers that they had to make a robot that looked just like that. It's slow, and fragile, and pretty much sucks at everything it does. But it sure looks pretty.

this is not at all what it will look like in the end, this is just the first itteration of visuals to draw interest, the reality is more restaurants and grocery stores are going to be large blocks of automated vending machine style point of sales, and there will be a docking area for drones to pic up a meal for delivery, it''s not going to be a robot that has every joint a human possesses, that's a huge waste of machinery when you just need an arduino set of mechanisms that air fry pre packages factory patties.

Robots don't need to taste food. Can already teach an AI what humans like to eat, so it's just a matter of applying that to robotics, which is a lot easier than you might think

This video is probably paid by the big oil companies. Tesla is their competitor. I'm a Tesla owner, and I love my Tesla. 1. Tesla doesn't have an engine. So, there is no maintenance. 2. I pay around $10 for 300 miles charge. 3. My Tesla is always recording. I always have footage of what happened to my car. Best security and peace of mind. 4. Fast! 5. Great tech! I recommend owning both gas and electric cars.

What you want to do is have a few large but out of the way tanks of compressed air, and regulate this into your combustion engine with adequate pressure to force air induction. The result will show as increased engine performance, and yes on par with a turbo or supercharger but no parasitic strain on the engine. Already well established. Just hook it to a button and use as needed. Push the button and have an instant 100 to 150 hp, no joke if your engine can handle it more hp can be gained than a mere 150. But a the push of a button and otherwise your just normal running mode. Yes you have to refill the tanks, they won't fill themselves, but an independent compressor built into your car could made that possible. This is about one of the easiest things a person could do to get *massive gains* and yes actually serious about this. I mean put this together and you basically are only confined by the upper most limits of your car engine. Its super cheap compared to turbos, twin turbo, supercharged, and probably more comparable to twin charged in terms of instant power but your limit is how much compressed air you have, and how fast your able to force that air into your engine. But get that right once and your set. This has been proven at the drag strip, before ragging on me over this post go look at what the results have been, FIRST. Then thank me later .
