I remember seeing them at Walt Whitman high school in Maryland in 1973. Sat in the front row mesmerized...

Ballsy to go against the original. But very good! The end part was a little shitty. Your voice was so good, you didn't need all that. That extra "with fate" thing you did at 1:10 was incredible! But yeah, it is quite a song, and you sure did it justice.

+KirbStone5 Thank you very much. What happened was I was watching the movie on a commercially released VHS tape and after the end credits was a music only playing for exit music. I was thrilled because I could sing to it. I was inspired to try to emulate what Jose' had done. I had to do it in one live take because I had very primitive equipment. I also goofed around with the visual(putting my name in) which actually offended a few folks. I'm happy that you read some of the comments. Sometimes people don't take the time..... :)
@KirbStone59 жыл бұрын
wth? This song was sung by Jose Feliciano in the film, and on the soundtrack. This says it's sung by "Steve Wright"! A Demo maybe? Or a clever repurposing by a very good singer, who has copied Jose's vocal style well. Or maybe the other way around? Who is Steve Wright anyway?

This song is very beautiful, in my humble opinion, as well the video. Bravo! I shared it and what is a terrible injustice, there's [+6] out there, but here only 3 likes. Always hope that the sharing will help to the authentic artists but such cases disappoint me... some times I decided to stop sharing as useless to the main goal, then the hope wins over and so on...

For Myself... This piece carries with it, a mixture of memories and emotions, better left to the wind. Maybe others understand... When listening to 'The Power of Love'... one could be heart-struck with the compositions weight and depth. A notion of pure surrender to the infinite, comes to mind. Only to be gently caressed with descending sense of naked fragility, assured that, "this moment has passed." "The Power of Music" is in disguise here. Bringing to bare what's only fitting., The following orchestral movement is placed second, in the order to hear.., 'Visions of The Naked Sword.' And it's a real charmer. Nevertheless... Acceptance allows me to still view this LP release as a true Masterpiece. In spite of how life's random associations with (in this case) music, can tear at old wounds of past. The album, 'Apocalypse,' was underrated by it's hardcore fans that wanted the original line-up and format, not to mention, incompetent critics casting no praise when it debuted in 74'. And yet., This 4th studio effort proves to be a seminal addition, in it's own right. The Mahavishnu legacy seems to be evolution to this day.70+ years old and still in the game.

I believe the uptempo is known as Admiral Halsey...on the DVD it's listed "Uncle Albert / Admiral Halsey." And is it just me, or does this sound a great deal like Danny Seraphine /Chicago? He did mention liking Seraphine a lot. Note the way it slows down.

The feel on that lil pick up, the three hits, two snare and one on small tom kept me busy on his feel for a good hour of rewinding... Btw, it's a different part on the Stick It album.
