As a natural early riser, I gotta say I'm baffled at how a lot of improvement gurus are selling people on the same thing I was made fun of for back in high school and college, they were like "why do you get up so early, Victoria? Are you going to move to Pennsylvania and become Amish? Maybe that's why you wear dresses all the time. Just stay up late like a normal person". Now they're all "waking up early will make you a billionaire" The reality is waking up early does give me some mental benefits but I'm just an ordinary 27-year old girl except for the early rising thing. I make my bed usually whatever time of day I have 15 free minutes to do so, sometimes it's morning, sometimes it's night, sometimes afternoon, and I could never do the cold shower thing in winter, living in New Hampshire in a drafty old barn of a house (the water here is 40°F/4.5°C in winter coming out of the pipes, it's like battling an ice-type Pokémon, haha). Summer on the other hand, it often feels nice (especially since my house only has two window unit ACs and I gotta call my dad and brothers to come over to help me install them, my boyfriend helps with that stuff too). For me, the biggest benefits of waking up at 3 AM every morning are enjoying the night sky, working on artwork, walking around in the early AM feeling refreshed, sometimes I work on my garden a little bit (if I've already showered, I just water the plants). Ultimately focus on just what works best for you, do some trial and error. Hope I didn't write too much, I have ADHD and tend to talk a lot.
