my first Porshe was a 74 911 with the 2.7 engine but after were the 928 and 944 numbered edition convertible and a 911 turbo from 83 two years older than the 944 ,after only a carrera4 from the 90´s and in 2006 bought a porshe boxter couldn´t believe how good it was to drive it and had only heard bad things about it ,again people who don´t know how to drive talk bad about good cars

With a cold engine revving it up to 5000 rpm...? Not good.
@schildi42268 ай бұрын
These Engines are very solid, this is not a racecar engine. These engines where tested and driven like this for years, there is nothing to worry about. As an example, a friend of mine owns a golf from the same aera, it's a diesel with 550k miles on it (the engine was never opened) and after starting it he always puts the foot down and kisses the rpm up to the limiter, he is abusing the car since he bought it with 30k miles. Anyways, this was probably not the greatest example and i may have gone a bit off topic, but it still kinda proves my point, these cars are ment to last and be driven by everyone, so no immediate engine explosion when the motor is cold.
@scottcooneymusic67362 ай бұрын
Hes revving it but under minimal load. But yes, I would usually let the car warm through before revving it over 3 grand.

My inherited 1983 is a 5-spd. It’s an adventure every time I drive it, and I get a lot of people giving me “Thumbs Up” when I drive. No, it’s not going to win any speed records, but it sure wins the Smile race.

it dpends on your driving i won a segment of a rally with a 74 Mercedes 220D w115 ,with only the colector ,took the all exaust pipe and everytrhing else, won against a new lancia integrale (rally car) this in 94 , the driving makes the race not the car, don´t know how fast it turns but it put everybody in the surroundings deaf, also i was a rally driver from 1971 to 1985, ford was my brand in rally cars ,RS1600 and RS2000, alsowith my integrale(road car) won to a evo mk several numbers from mitsubishi ,also drove one in 2007 and what a car the evo

It's not a fast car. If second gear went to 60 however it would be considerably quicker in 0-60 times as you need to shift at 55 and these older gearboxes can't speed shift. It is a fantastic handling car however
