is this basically a way to access more samples than assigned to the 8 pads? for me this would be helpful to trigger one shots, even turn down quantization & tempo to trigger longer phrases without having to assign them. i actually haven't touched my octatrack since buying it a few weeks ago; i understand it very well fundamentally & architecturally, but i don't know how to interface with it and don't want to start using it in a certain way that locks me out of approaching it other ways, so i'm trying to watch & learn as much about it before getting into it.

For more thoughts about how to use your Octatrack the way you like, I recommend you to check @ezbot channel (you probably already know him (?)). Keep experimenting with the beast, connect what you know to what you want and you will find your own workflow ;) What you can do is have multiple samples in one, then use slice mode instead of step sequencer. That way you can have many sounds in just one track. And if you want to step sequence a track, parameter lock on the slice (?). I hope it can help, sorry if not 🥲😁✌️

Hey, thank you! The launch control is linked via a Kenton Midi USB Host MK2. You have to edit the template on the novation web app but you can find a few templates for free already mapped 😉 Hope it can help, have a nice geek weekend héhé 😁
