Hello, one question why is it that you have done all of that when you already had an existing lawn ? Bought one of these to try. The instructions are so vague and useless. The mix settings on the chart that is attached to it when you buy is completely different to what's marked on the bottle.

The easiest way I have found is having mower flat on concrete and sticking 150mm ruler down through reel against bed knife and taking a reading and adjust height holding ruler there. Heaps quicker with no stuffing around.

A bargain like that is super hard to find. Need to be on the lookout for them. We’ve since moved away from sourcing them as the cost and what they need done to bring them up to good working order is not worth it compared to some of the machines you can get on the market new.

If you mean the one on the nature strip it is a DIY solution. You have to buy the spikes (search Holman spikes) and sprinkler heads separately and connect them with hoses and hose clamps

Nice vid guys. I’m working on restoring an old Bushranger 400 and wonder if I should clear coat any of my parts after painting- did you guys consider a clear coat or is it not necessary?

We never have but a lot of people do. If you use paint out of a spray can and don’t clear coat you can always do touch ups when you inevitably get scratches and scuffs

Great info lads, wish I had of seen this before I bought my 17 inch twin rail. Paif 800 for it, had to spend another 850. Not all old guys are genuine 😂 At least now I have a semi new machine that will last.

Regarding that second lawn you should try and water a lot before coring.. Then try and double core it remove the plugs and fill with a course gin gin type loam that will help get the nutrients flowing down into the depth (better water penetration as well) then fert and reassess in 4-6 months.

@@LawnLads Maybe I misunderstood what you guys were saying. All I heard was client has been watering regularly. When I used to do coring irrespective of there watering days I get the client to water the night before and an hour before I arrive the next day by hand watering if necessary if its not your watering day and retest via the screwdriver test or core/soil probe sampler ( about $130 on ebay). Eg I never heard anyone mention any extra specific instructions regarding extra watering before the core job.
