You have to remember to make sure that your legs are wide enough apart so that your feet are not in a direct line once you get the opponent on your back you step up and toss them you don't remain in that squat position like that you step up so that you're in a full squat and then you step push up and throw them My teacher could do it so fast you would be on the floor before you knew what happened

What an innovative approach. How cool is that?
@AK_UK_7 ай бұрын
Sometimes boxers/mma fighters are crouching, pouncing etc sound how are they able to still produce so much power? If you have your crown straight, aren't you fighting with a straight back and hence not flexible? Good video BTW!
@Greendragontaichiandqigong7 ай бұрын
Even though they are crouching they are not rounding the back or breaking their own structure. The bend or fold is in the hips and legs. Even if they are angled forwaed their shoud still be a straight (ish) line from the crown to the tailbone.
Nice, but what would you do if he does the wrist grab correctly, does an arm drag, takes your back, and throws you to the ground and smashes you because he is more athletic than you? Like can you actually show that in sparring? not just demonstration.
@Greendragontaichiandqigong8 ай бұрын
What you say is certainly possible. Anyone who trains and spars knows that there is always someone better. Everything is much harder against an active opponent, but first, we have to learn the moves before we can actually use them. And as you probably know, it won't always look pretty or cool.

I think these techniques are great but how does one apply these techniques when some one is attacking you like bruce lee or mike tyson ?
@Greendragontaichiandqigong8 ай бұрын
It's harder for sure. Gotta be used to sparring and fighting, even then it depends on the skill level of your opponent

Thank you, very beautiful and graceful set. I learned this exact set twenty years ago from my master but haven’t been practicing for over fifteen years now and been trying everywhere on KZbin to refresh my memory. I’m now relearning the movements from you. Much appreciated You wouldn’t happen to have Chen style by any chance? Kind Regards

I treat nearly all tai chi applications as based in grappling, and in response to grappling; makes a lot more sense. For this one, if instead of deflecting a punch, you regard it as a response to an opponent's grabbing attempt, then that is what both of your arms are doing - directing/controlling his wrists down to his sides before you grab his legs.
