To write something like this and sing it in this way requires very deep soul. Can anybody sing like this today? Don’t think so

Hey darling I love your music. I just found out that my family's been hiding my cancer from me. They ran off my husband they said that it was better if he was gone. I don't know what the likelihood that you'll sing this at my funeral is but would help me let him know that I love him

I love how everybody is hating on Ed without actually knowing that these two are very close friends. Foy Vance has worked with Ed on so many of Ed’s songs and they have both written a lot of music together

When the sins of my father Weigh down in my soul And the pain of my mother Will not let me go Well, I know there can come fire from the sky To refine the purest of kings Even though I know this fire brings me pain Even so And, Lord, just the same Make it rain Make it rain Make it rain Make it rain Make it rain Make it rain Make it rain Make it rain And the seed needs the water Before it grows out of the ground But it just keeps on getting hotter And the hunger more profound Well, I know there can come tears from their eyes But they may as well be in vain Even though I know these tears will bring me pain Even so And, Lord, just the same Oh, make it rain Make it rain Make it rain Make it rain Make it rain Make it rain Make it rain Make it rain The seas fill with water Stops by the shore Just like the riches of grandeur Never reach the port Let the clouds fill with thunderous applause Oh, let lightning be the veins Fill the sky With all that they can drop When it's time To make a change Make it rain Make it rain Make it rain Make it rain Make it rain Make it rain Make it rain Oh, make it rain Make it rain Make it rain down, Lord Make it rain Make it rain Make it rain Make it rain down Make it rain Make it rain

Love it or hate it, ref: "Who sang this song" first. It's sad that, most ORIGINAL Versions are unknown or unrecognized because other vocalists like Ed Sheeran "popularized" the song: thus, people are unaware of Foy Vance who begat: "Make It Rain". There are ALOT of other similar cases: Just like it was Elvis Presley who popularized & made famous the song "Blue Suede Shoes"; BUT it was (Carl Perkins) who originated the song.
