i Glen, Hope you're doing well. I was wondering if you have access to any VFL footage from the 1973-1979 period? I'd love to see some games from that era if possible. Let me know if there's any way to arrange this. Cheers, Pete

I find KPacker comes across as an awful human being, but I can't fault anything he says, and his contribution to Australian cricket, and to a lesser extent world cricket, was greater than any other single person that I can think of.
@keithad6485Ай бұрын
what has he said or done which makes you think he is awful? This is a genuine question.
@chriswatson7965Ай бұрын
@@keithad6485 I don't think that he was awful, just that he came across that way. In general it was his belittling of people, explosive temper, intemperate language, sadism, and general lack of consideration for most other people's feelings. Probably the most outrageous thing that he said was that the reason he was buying Fairfax was that it would amuse him, with the underlying feeling he was doing it for a personal vendetta, ignoring the concerns the public had for concentration of media ownership.
@keithad6485Ай бұрын
@@chriswatson7965 I know very little about Packer beyond what is reported in the media. Perhaps what appears to you to be belittling, is his way of dealing with fools he is forced to suffer. Just a possibility. This appears to be the case when I watched the recording of the politicians attempting grill him over media ownership during which Packer came across as so much more informed that the pollies who seemed to want to impress the viewers that they could mix it up with a seasoned media mogul and fell flat on their faces, some appeared to be truly uninformed and full of themselves - fools.
@chriswatson7965Ай бұрын
@@keithad6485 WIth belittling I am referring to his interactions with some of his employees. I've never seen him belittle a politician or anybody else he couldn't threaten.

Doug Booth was the St. Kilda player (prick!) at 1:34:18 who kicked that poor dog in the head! He should have been banned from the VFL for life! 😡 The Police Officer who witnessed the assault, from only a few feet away, should have charged him with 'Intentional cruelty to an animal'!
