Mark, I was there in Adelaide when The Injectors played the Tivoli and the Bridgeway. Still got your first edition vinyl LP. Keep it up! And convince Mary Spender to cover some of your songs.

90's in a nutshell. The pushed blacks & muted colours in the music vid. The slow, hazy tempo, jingle-jangle guitars, downbeat lyric. Good stuff.

What an album, more clean singing too, very different from most of his albums, shame the record company folded and this album got lost at the time, ha, SOUL LOST COMPANION

I was literally thinking - 'I miss the soulful JD&I sound' when I read your comment. 😄
@SamaraS19702 ай бұрын
@pdloder great minds think alike and to think with me being in the United States the only reason that I have heard of him was because of INXS, and then INXS and Jimmy Barnes and then Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham and Diesel I've been having a nice little trip down the rabbit hole I just haven't figured out how to climb out yet 😂
@pdloder2 ай бұрын
@sammie8923 what an awesome rabbit hole to fall down. As an Aussie, I never really bought into INXS at the time, I could take em or leave em(I like them more now). Barnsy, I appreciated as a kid - then grew to love him as an adult. I always loved Johnny Farnham. (I especially love the duet between the two (with Diesel on guitar and chorus) 'When Something is Wrong With My Baby' - an incredible performance and ALWAYS thought it underrated in Australia). But from my very first listen to Johnny Diesel & Then Injectors (self titled album) - I was hooked (if you're not an Aussie you likely wouldn't know - before Diesel (Mark Lizotte) was a solo artist - he fronted the band JD&I) and for me - their self titled album... There isn't a note, a bar, lyric or an intro, solo, or outro that could be improved apon - it is UTTER perfection, and my favourite album of all time... And I don't listen to it often enough. But it's quite different in genre and feel to his solo stuff - which I also like a lot.

@@pdloder yes I know of Johnny Diesel and the injectors I don't know I just think I like diesel as a as a solo artist was he with the injectors when he did man alive and tip of my tongue there are some other ones that I can't remember exactly but I do like Diesel and Johnny I mean Jimmy together I can't remember which performance I'm commenting on but I really really really really really really love all three of them doing in the Midnight Hour live! And I love Jimmy's soulful voice like he redid the song called I gotcha I love that is something about Jimmy's voice I know that I've heard that some people over there call him the screamer but I don't see it and I love cold chisels version of wild thing and I love the live version of Jimmy and John singing When The war is over because John just does like the first two verses and then Jimmy comes out and I get goosebumps but as far as INXS goes I liked them I wasn't like into them back in the day but I have a newfound appreciation for the whole band being to play their own instruments writing their own music because most of the time this day and age we don't have that anymore and I think what did it for me with INXS and it just happened like 4 months ago I have become obsessed with his band and that Wembley live concert just showed off all their talent and if you haven't watched the Wembley concert from 1991 I would recommend it and I'm so sad about Michael Hutchence because I have depression and it's gotten really bad lately so saying performances upstairs from 96 and 97 it's just breaks my heart and I'm over here crying thinking about it he was so young and I know he didn't make all good choices but nobody does but he didn't deserve the press handing him and all the bad press and all that crap going on with that woman. I just feel sad and I know the 22nd of this month is like 27 years since he's been gone but anyway enough of that but yeah if you haven't seen Wembley Stadium I would recommend it for a one-time watch you might get a newfound appreciation for them! 🤣😭💔 And if some of my wording doesn't sound right it's because I'm doing talk-to-text sometimes my little phone doesn't hear what I'm saying correctly and it'll type some crazy mess 🤣
