How can I start a business like this and how much I would need? Can you please explain?🙏🏽

Nice one. Last month I did a side by side comparison of sporeless oyster grown on heat pasteurized and lime pasteurized wheat straw and lime produced really nice flushes to my surprise.

Your first arm condenser is a reflux condenser for vertical use. Switch to a distillation condenser will drain easier, not pool in the bulbs. But yea a rotovap might be easier if it’s bump proof, but water is always hard to pull off. Lower the temp the better. Rotovaps don’t usually use a high vac & use water as their heating bath. Very hard to get a rotovap to hold a larger than 2L flask, so 1L at a time & if it bumps you’re screwed.

Is that chiller capable of handling all 3 soxhlets and that concentration rig all at once? What HP does it have? Great DIY set up!!!
@MyersMushroomsFarmsАй бұрын
@sam4259 1.5 hp and it runs all 3 no issues. The reactor needs lower temps so I don't run them together.

I'd heard that running a decoction extraction method rather than two separate methods, ie, water first then alcohol can severely depreciate the Beta Glucan level. is that utter bunkum? What are your findings on this front, man?

How much and what type of solvent do you use? What percentage does finished extract have?
@MyersMushroomsFarmsАй бұрын
@cepuras it depends entirely what im extracting for what solvents are ran. End alcohol ABV is around 25%.

Why do my Blue oysters loose color once the caps start to form from the pins?
@sawyer5110Ай бұрын
Try growing them in a colder climate around 55 degrees. They will grow slower but will be more dense and retain more of their color. It could also be the genetics of your mushroom.

Hey Eric, Thank you as always for helping the community to try to keep up with your evolution. Question: I'm curious about the amount of time it takes for a cycle, how many cycles you do, how much alcohol loss are you suffering(starting and ending with), and do you still have to hot swap to get enough mushroom media into the soxhlet? Details: I'm running a 2000ml flask, i can only fit 70-110g of dried mushroom into the 1000ml soxhlet depending on the mushroom. For 1200ml of finished alcohol i should be passing through 300-400g of the dried mushroom broken down to close to a powder but not quite. So three sets of pouches(35-55g each), doing two cycles of each, the third cycle doesn't seem to pull much color and the alcohol loss I believe to not be worth it. I'm finishing in about 9 hours to cycle six times, the three cycles that have to soak the media take longer but the cycles seem to be fine time wise. I'm starting with 1700ml of 94% grain alcohol and ending up with 800-1200 after doing this, obviously the 800 was too low and there was risk of dry fire, and maybe I could have added more alcohol, most end up closer to the 1000-1200ml which is ok but not ideal. I think a soxhlet 3 times the 1000ml (3000ml) would allow me to not have to hot swap and potentially a secondary condenser to help with the alcohol loss. Curious why everyone seems to be on board with having a smaller soxhlet than flask? Thank you for all you do for the community - Findlay's Fungus

Are you checking what temps your extraction chamber is at? It usually takes a good hour or two for everything to warm up and stabilize. We load it up once with both dry and fresh and run it for about 3-4 hours. It takes a while for everything to get up to temp.
@austinbetters8730Ай бұрын
Literally about to build one of these fucking fantastic
@johnfindlay520425 күн бұрын
@@MyersMushroomsFarms I had no cooling on the soxhlet itself, and was swapping huge ice cubes in a bucket with a pump. Added a fan blowing on the soxhlet and switched to the house cold water supply and also swapped condenser ends so the cold goes in at the top and lost much less, from 1700ml down to 1420ml moving in the right direction and much more acceptable loss.

@MyersMushroomsFarms2 ай бұрын
@williamdejager2211 it works well but if I did it again I would have just tapped off my irrigation well or done a 500ft 1" poly water loop to exchangers or to chill a chiller instead of pushing air underground. Also wouldn't have me to go down in the pit and work as much. Could have just tossed it down coiled up.
