Thanks for the suggestion. I have quite a bit of Yashica gear, so I will look into that. As you say, you can buy C/Y adapters to put the lenses on a wide range of cameras and there are plenty of lenses for sale at good prices.

Why shoot film? Easy - Film is far and away FAR superior to anything digital. BUT ... But you will run out of money faster than you believe if you happen to be a VERY active photographer - And who the hell has space to actually STORE all of those negatives, prints, and transparencies? And like I already said, the money factor ...

Although I have at least two hundred film cameras, I also regularly use digital. I find that shooting with film is a more thoughtful experience, as the cost of the film and processing is not cheap. I tend to be slower with film and think more about each shot. I think digital can make us lazy. This would be an interesting topic for a video.

@@ShutterMinds - What is it with these people who own, or at least have owned, literally dozens or even hundreds of different cameras? I've always had a camera in my hands, and I've even done a bit of professional photography. I can understand owning several cameras during an an entire lifetime, but not owning into the dozens or hundreds.

There are a couple unique features that were gotten wrong. The one I want to mention is the focus wasn't done with a know on the side but rather a lever in the front under the taking lens.

It's "waist" level, as in your belly area. In other words, you hold the camera down at your waist (belly) rather than at eye level. However, that said, there are numerous optional prism finders available for 45 degree and 90 degree viewing at eye level.

Other than that, nice video. I have one, one thing to be aware of is the focus lever: NEVER force it if you find an old Autocord, often the grease in the helicoid has stiffened, especially if the camera hasn't been used for a decade or two. Forcing it can easily snap the lever, and then you're in for an expensive repair as a new lever will need to be machined. Another thing about old TLR's is that often the focus-screen is made of plastic that has yellowed, resulting in a dark view-finder. It is possible to buy modern replacements for many TLR's, they are even available with a "spli-screen", replacing the old one will often make the view-finder a lot brighter.

Thanks for the video, enjoyed it. I have a lot of old film cameras & I use most of them. I read somewhere not to change the shutter speed until after the camera has been wound & the shutter has cocked as failure to do this will break the camera. I also keep all of the selenium cells covered or in a case or bag apparently this helps to preserve the lifespan of the light meter? Not sure if either is true but just to be on the safe side I follow this advice.

Unfortunately this is a common problem with the Contax T2. If you look on Contax groups and chat forums, you will see many people discussing the same issue. If you have only just bought the camera, I suggest you go back to the seller and tell them that it is faulty. I am unsure if it is possible to repair.
