Long shot with the old video. Did you finish the EVAP, PCV combination valve delete? If so do you have any information on doing that delete?

Hi, did you remove the radiator to get to the bolt?
@ge0tunee9163 жыл бұрын
I took the front of the car off. Not all the way I just loosened everything in front and used a jack stand to help me keep it balanced. Once I had enough clearance I just worked my way in there but honestly removing the front completely would be better and also easier because u can actually see where they are opposed to having to feel for them the way I did it.

Hi there I don’t know if you’ll get to this comment because the video is kinda old but I have a problem with my 04 gli 24valve where it misfires or something randomly, it sounds like the car is cammed, it does have a very miner valve cover leak but I don’t think that could be the problem, don’t know if it’s my injectors, coil packs or anything else, I replaced all 6 plugs but it still does it randomly
Check your coils by swapping it with one that is not misfiring. And it may be a vaccum leak causing your misfire. I thought replacing all my coils would get rid of it but I still had one random misfire on cylinder 6. While it was running I pulled the coil for cylinder 6 and was able to hear the change in idle letting me know that cylinder 6 was fine and not actually misfiring. Vaccum leaks can have all sorts of effects and can be really hard to spot.

I just got a used vw, same exact make and model: 2003, GLI 2.8 VR6. I do need to replace my valve cover gasket because it is leaking. Can you tell me what tools you used exactly to get this thing off? I'm going to try it myself. Also, have you had an issue with your EPC and traction control lights coming on intermittently and then disappearing? It's a problem I have not been able to crack and the internet has not either. I have a P0101 for my MAF that is not going away despite the fact that I have replaced it with a new MAF. I am still getting the same code after resetting my OBDII. I sometimes will also encounter this problem (usually it happens on the highway): I will suddenly feel a complete loss of throttle response for a second or two, then it will respond for a few seconds, then this keeps happening for 10 seconds on average until the throttle response will return to normal by keeping the pedal held down. It feels as if the car is going into an intermittent limp mode? If I throw my car into neutral while this is happening, my RPMs will go to zero and the battery light will come on. The dealer was not able to pinpoint this problem. I am unsure if this is in any way related to the above-mentioned problems. Please let me know if you have any advice for me. Subbed! :)

5mm hex, and 10mm socket I removed the front of my car to give me better clearance.. not completely off but enough to see the bolts.. So for the intake plenum I used a long 5mm hex bit with my 3/8ths ratchet. Once u remove the the 9 bolts in front its smooth sailing from theree because the last few bolts are on top. The bolts on the valve cover are your basic 10mm. I googled the tightening sequence and torque specs when I was putting it back together

Your EPC light is like a limp mode for the car letting you know something is wrong. It usually has something to do with your MAF sensor. You say u replaced that tho. I had same issue but once I changed the MAF and drove it for a while it disappeared. Did u drive it afterwards because sometimes the car just needs to be driven for it to re-register along with the reset.

What gear are you in before you go to neutral? causing the rpms go to zero and battery light come on.

Do you know what caused your misfire on cylinder 6? I’m trying to diagnose a cylinder 5 misfire on my 12v and can’t seem to find the problem
@ge0tunee9163 жыл бұрын
Sorry 4 late reply. But it was a faulty ignition coil. I took 1 & 6 out and switched them. It started to misfire on cylinder 1 instead of 6. Since then I have fixed the issue by getting a new coil pack.
@Josh-eu8he3 жыл бұрын
Did you try swapping the coil packs? They are known for failing for this model. I had the same issue, and it turned out to be the the coil packs. They aren't expensive either.
