i did all of the uh... life upgrades... after starting from beginning at very end of game after getting game breaking glitch... aaaand... i go to pick up the water sword and it doesnt collect... but i can still do the cutscenes and get bad endinng...

I had this specific Thug already over halfway dead when I remembered this exploit, lol. But I got my chance later in the game. It wasn't until JUST before heading out for the Prison that I went back to the Resort and got the Left Hand of Glova that I did some messing around and found a time-efficient (as time-efficient as one can be with this exploit, at least) way of doing this. Okay, so you'll want to, of course, have the Left Hand of Glova on your person along with the blunt weapon and broken brass knuckles. Second, you'll want to fast travel to Resort Bunker #1 (which you'll pass through on the way to the Jungle, I believe). Every time you load the game up and fast travel there, you'll be provided with a Thug (and a Walker, just so you know) right away. Take out the Walker, and you should lure the Thug inside the Bunker, just to be on the safe side. Once he's in, zap the fucker, break an arm, and get to work. And when he's dead, make sure you're tracking a quest that'll have you respawn in a safe haven (like the Lighthouse) after you quit your game. Depending on what level you start out as when you first do this (I was at around Level 34 myself), and as long as you don't damage them too bad when you break their arms, you should be able to get two levels off of one Thug, maybe more. But when you start getting closer to Level 50, it'll slow down to the point where it'll be a real grind, mainly because the game will start spawning Thugs that are about two or three levels lower than you. Or at least, that was my experience with this exploit. You should still be able to get at least one level off a Thug, though. After about two or three hours, I was finally at Level 50. You COULD get the Left Hand of Glova right after you've gone through the Hotel and start on it then with other Thugs (you'll need to make use of the dupe glitch to get the funds for it, though), but one recommendation that I'd make is that you wait until AFTER you're finished with the Jungle. At that point, the game has already thrown its toughest stuff (namely the horror that is the escort mission with Ope and Yerema in Chapter 14) at you, and as long as you know what you're doing, you shouldn't have a very tough time with the rest of it.
