That equipment looks both expensive and fiddly to fix/upgrade; moreover so does checking that everything works in the correct sequence such as the yodalarms sounding as soon as the amber light appears until - in the case of the level crossing shown - all the barriers have closed on a full barrier crossing. Hats off to those workers and people who deliberately misuse level crossings should be ashamed of themselves

Should have taken a wigwag and a barrier plate home with you. For character, I prefer the old crossing, on the other hand, for safety I prefer the new crossing.
@AndrooUK Жыл бұрын
The first seemed like quite a short clearance time after the barriers closed before a train passed, especially when full closing barriers usually have such a long closure time in the UK, to allow for a train to stop if the crossing is obstructed.

Quite unusual to see trains like that running on a railway line that’s not in some sort of park - most trains like that tend to take a circuitous route around a park and give you a chance to see it at a glance, so you know how to get to different locations in the park - they aren’t normally seen on actual railway lines- although Wales has The Great Little Trains Of Wales that go up mountains and around lakes and places normally inaccessible to regular trains!

Cool level crossing regardless (same applies to Grove Road one, and everything & everyone else who's a lifesaver) While now this LC and the nearby Grove Road LC have more conventional sounding audible alarms, the alarms still have that quirky unusual tone about them, or is that just me wittering on about utter drivel?! Lol 😂
@rainbowlady1532 Жыл бұрын
Since the revamp on this level crossing shown in the video, it does look like both LC's (which are now defunct & been removed) at Newhaven Harbour, especially the Beach Road one that had quiet yodalarms as the audible warning. I think it's because the wigwags on this level crossing that are nearer to the camera look a bit like the halogen ones nearer to the camera which you see in the video of Beach Road level crossing on Newhaven Harbour (when the level crossing was halogen). I HOPE that all makes sense!

Forgive me for sounding cretinous & boring, but for some odd reason this LC, Ferry Road LC just down the way from this one, Woodensborough Road/Moat Sole LC in Sandwich Kent and St Dunstan's Road LC in Canterbury Kent kind of looked similar to one another. I think prior to the upgrades & not to sound like a snob or disrespectful, they all had a slightly shabby look about them (in a good way); plus all four of them have alarms that are less conventional sounding yet still provide enough warning, which is the bottom line/be all and end all. Apologies for my seriously sad observations lol 😂

That traffic noise is 10 times worse than in my videos. It can't be as bad as that surely. Fancy you only filming here once. You are showing me up. I was looking forward to the Snow and Ice train.

With all these open crossings the FR has I wonder if they’ve ever had any incidents with traffic getting in the way.
