I saw them on this tour with my mate Baz who swore he knew them all (he really was a massive fan). We went for a drink before the gig and who should walk in but Lee Brilleaux. He walks straight over to us and says to my mate “alright Baz want a pint?” A true rock n roll gentleman!

With this lineup Dr Feelgood reached its apogee in many ways (personal opinion of course...!) a seriously mean roadside attraction. I'm in the front row of a couple of live TV recordings at this time, pissed out of my head and... ''giving it large,'' I think is the expression these days..?! God bless you Lee, God bless all you band members past and present, God bless Dr Feelgood. You have all given me immense pleasure throughout my life.

They played the Top Alex on a Sunday evening for free in I think 1973 ; essentially it was one of their first gigs. They were as brilliant then as they became! I used to see Lee drinking in our local pub called the Cricketers; always super cool!

They should do a jeff healey signture model guitar like the one hes playing here with the red pickups.

I'm sure guitarists clearly here the loose, jingly chording, very clear in the intro. That would be chorus and delay pedals? Don't think it is an octaver, because Jeff could have used the 12-string neck of his double-neck guitar to get that, which he used elsewhere in the concert. Any ideas?

I know of a few more solos that can bring that feeling back for you. Check out the covers of Have A Cigar & While My Guitar Gently Weeps by 'The Main Squeeze '. Max is the young guitarist and he is simply from another world. Extremely talented and The Main Squeeze is just the tightest band you will see nowadays.
