Very much a yin and yang discussion. One was focused on suffering, violence, pain, and deprivation, while the other was focused on togetherness, community, hope, and promise.

Thank you for posting this. It is very difficult to remember that we tend to flatten people's complexity by making them "the enemy." We live in separate bubbles which makes it so hard to see the humanity of anyone not in our bubbles. It can be hard even within a bubble. If I have any difference in opinion to those close to me, I am nervous to voice it because we are living in such a heightened time. I am working on my listening skills too. It's said that if you can make the space to listen with calm curiosity, others may calm too and be more interested in hearing your story as well.

I really appreciate the information provided in this video, and appreciate the emphasis on visual aids as well. However, I feel that more time should be invested in elaborating on the difference between Systemic and Structural Racism. Especially as the video is titled specifically "Structural Racism Explained", I am surprised that less than a minute was spent actually explaining what Structural Racism is specifically. I ended up needing to try and research these differences in other medias. I would request an addition to this video wherein more time in spent establishing and defining Structural Racism, giving examples, and covering what makes it different from Systemic racism.

Single white woman benefit the most affirmative action. Put it out there, people put it out there. We're not dumb, no more. It's Pluto time. Everything is coming to the surface man.

Well if there is systemic, personal and structural racism, why not go back to Africa? It's never going to change. Try moving to Haiti or South Africa. I've never heard such horseshit in my life. You will never change Whites. It has nothing to do with your skin color. It's your values. It's your actions.

I'm happy Maria brought up the ways she is seeking to find belonging with Trump supporters - all this divisiveness needs to stop. Divide and Conquer is the tactic. The people united will never be defeated <3

It prevents them from being overlooked due to cultural background, poverty or lack of doing extra activities at school like being class president. In fact, after the repeal Asian Americans are more likely to be rejected. Black students that were said to have caused that original have the same admissions rate after repeal.

For all the work.Martin Luther King did, nothing has changed.It may seem as though we've broken a few barriers, but the only thing we aquired is picking up the crumbs the European people dropped on its floor.Some, like the his children may slip you the bones or feed you what he don't want, but he will never invite you to his dinner table.These people will allow a dog to stand up on their table before they would allow a black man to even enter their quarters.The Europeans are Shaytons in the flesh despite Iblis or Satan hates them also.But through his abilities to entice mankind, but the European people are quick to except the guile of Satan with open This is why these people learns about their creator, alter what been sent down to mankind and take an allegiance with the deciever who's only goal is to lead mankind to the fire with himself on the day of judgement.

Dummheit kennt keine Grenzen.

"Don't think that because your disability is accommodated that you no longer have one" - Imani Barbarin (1:33) PHEEEEEEWWW!!!
@lilamiumi
@lilamiumi Ай бұрын
"I don't feel bad about my disability, at all. I feel bad about the way people treat me because of it. The tears I have shed, 9 times out of 10, do not come from me, but come from the world's insistence that they wear their own ableism within my skin, and that's not my responsibility to bear. We live in a society where disability is weaponized against us and then we are taught to exclude those people, but I ask of you as organizers, as advocates -- as people wanting to create a world of belonging -- to unlearn the ableism you have been taught." Imani Barbarin (1:29:45) Beautiful. Profound. Demanding. You are such a gorgeous guiding light and exactly what this world needs, Imani. Agyamanak ᥫ᭡

What a blessing to be able to hear Imani speak! I love so much about their discussion but especially parts pointing about the ableism in the "how many ____ to screw in a lightbulb" 'joke' and "the only thing separating me from you is luck and time". I also didn't realize that many countries have laws in place that prohibit disabled folx from traveling/living there; so, so cruel. Thank you, thank you, thank you for being and for sharing your cute little giggles ᥫ᭡ -- agyamanak; dios ti agngina.
