Did you report the activity to Budget's Corporate office? Not sure if Budget employees are in on the theft rings or if people are just able to lock on to the tracker.

If you plan to move to Maine, please go to Cumberland County and South, which we consider Massachusetts! Other than that, you really. are not welcome coming to change how we live and bringing your baggage with you, we really don't like people from away! You will not fit in with people from Maine, only with other intruders. Please don't come!!!

You are pretty much spot on since this was posted 2 yrs ago! I'm in NC where I grew up, I'm a retired Over the Road Truck Driver and I can't tell how many trips I made to Maine. I love the area, it has just about the same roual areas as NC. Last year we bought a big house in York County and we bought from a home owner but still had to pay a real estate agent $1800 separate. We had one inspection and passed then the guy moved all of his stuff out and because we have our grand kids, the state wanted another inspection and they found a problem with the back wall in the basement which costs us $7100 then we found out the owner we bought it from gave the contractor $1000 to help us with the expense. All is finally good now, we definitely learned some lessons in this buy! We'll be in our new home Sept of '24 then our life begins in Maine!! Thanks for posting this video, like I said earlier it's still spot on 2yrs later!!

I've watched a few of your videos as we are researching moving to Maine from Washington State; I've enjoyed hearing what you have to say from a resident standpoint, not just info about what to do as a tourist. House prices in Maine are more reasonable than where we currently live, especially if someone doesn't mind taking on some projects, and I look at Zillow often. Our move won't happen soon, but we're doing our research; and the market is always changing, so who knows, I'm staying hopeful. I did have a question and I wondered if you could answer it, maybe in a video or not: I notice that fences are not common on properties in Maine; is there a reason for that? I understand the low crime rate and maybe people don't feel a need, but is there another reason people don't have fences around their homes? Just curious if you had any idea why that is. I have more questions that I haven't found answers to in other people's videos; if you're looking for more content for a video I'm interested in your answers, but I'll start with that. Thanks! 🙂

Maine only has about 1.5 million people in the entire state. Austin, Texas has that many. Most people don't feel a need for fences plus they tend to rot out and are expensive in the first place to install. I got a quote to fence in my back yard for my dogs and it was about 10k. My dogs do not run off so it really is more of a nice to have than a necessity. Prices are better here than most of the country. However, I have seen a lot of insider real estate deals. My mother-in-law wants to Move here and a house had the sign for one day then it said sold...so I cannot blame the realtor they gotta eat too. It is just disappointing to know with all the current inflation and bad government mismanagement of funds we now have to worry about realtor integrity....come here this summer, heck come here now it has been in the 60s and 70s already. Get a feel for the area.

12/12/23, just found your channel. I retired and moved to Maine (2 hours directly west of you) in Oct. 2021 from Phoenix. I bought a 3 season cabin and raced to "winterize" it for my first winter. 3 electric/oil heaters got me through, but I needed more, so I installed a propane wall heater. I'm old and wanted something with no work required (like a wood stove would need) and didn't require electricity (due to all the power outages here). The propane heater tried to kill me twice with leaks. So, I will be installing a pellet stove for next winter. I can still manage 40 pound bags. I have 400ah of LiFePo4 battlers from a van conversion that didn't happen, so, I'll have power to run the motors in the stove when the power goes out. I miss the warm weather in Arizona, but in a power failure and it's 118F, there's no way to keep cool. At least here, you are your own heater. Simply put on a lot of layers to keep warm. It's nice to be away from all the crime I experienced in Phoenix, and "the middle of nowhere" is a great place to be when peace and quiet are priorities. Subbed.

Absolutely. I hated Arizona when my dad was stationed there. 118 degrees is not for me. Wood stove is your best bet. I am getting that next and a Kohler whole house generator.

Look on Realtor.com my area Wiscasset has blown up price wise. So much so that I can probably get 1.2 million for my house and 8.63 acres of land. Shop around or buy some land and build a Timberframe. The Shelter Institute is just up the road from me in Woolwich, Maine. They sell bent kits after each class of students. Sometimes discounted to like 17-20k frame is about the size of a two car garage. Great if its just you.

Why home prices all of a sudden are so high: Stock market has not been doing well lately, so investment companies with cash are buying all the lowest price houses that are livable. That is what is happening here on Cape Cod and many places around the country. It seems they’re trying to turn this into a renting country to profit from. This could be a huge bubble waiting to burst. Do you know if that is what’s driving prices up in Maine also? Hi Frank. Watched some of your vids because I thought about moving back to ME. Lived at Sugarloaf and Rangeley for many years, then went a little south, now on Cape Cod. Retired now so work is not a concern. Rangeley is too cold for my wife so thinking the area south of Bath and Wiscasset, down one of the peninsulas, maybe a small farm. Congratulations with your book. I appreciate people with an interest in the arts being a musician myself. Good luck to you.

Hello Atwood, I'm curious about Eastport and the more north east coastal areas(bar harbor to eastport) closer to the Canadian border and villages. Are they providing some comfortable living, social outlets and emergency services whilst still being peaceful and low key? I'm a navy vet originally from mass now Florida., soon I will be 100, and looking to live a quite semi coastal retired irish gypsy/sailor life, put down some roots and do some traveling to heritage locations as well as back down and up the coast. I'm a minimalist and I enjoy my privacy but also like to be part of a small community doing their own thing. Hopefully that makes sense? I'm aware I will have to visit but there's nothing like the advice of a born and raised there local. Thank you and I hope you havn't allowed the demigogs to put you off of info sharing on our Tube of You. Fair Weather & Following Seas. be Blessed

Well, as far as north eastern Maine is concerned. Its a young persons game. I grew up in Limestone and the snow drifts were half way up the telephone pole. As far as emergency services, hospitals, etc. Aroostook County does not offer enough essential services. Instead of Portland look in Brunswick, Richmond, Bowdoinham, Durham, and smaller towns on the out skirts of cities. I LIVE IN AND LOVE Wiscasset. Why did I stop producing videos. Short answer, Holy Spirit told me to let my channel go. Said to work like there was no more time left. I do a podcast called the One Sheep Podcast. He never told me to move the podcast as KZbin continues to censor whom ever they want... I do still respond to questions on here.
