You the man!! Are you using Sam's, Kevin's or something else for your route.....and are you using the route or tracks option on the Montana? Tracks seem to work better for me, but some use routes, so I'm curious what you're using and how it's working out so far? It would be helpful to put a link to the next video at the end of each video, and you can do that in Studio using the "End Screen" option. More work, but it sure makes it easier for the rest of us living vicariously through your adventures!! Safe travels!!

Man, I’m sorry that happened to you, and I’m glad you’re OK. For what it’s worth there’s no reason in regards to riding duration a not-shit maintained engine (honda or otherwise) should have suddenly seized on you like that. Glad you are back on the road. Oil is cheap insurance. Changing it and your filter every 3000 miles, on an engine that revs like that is just good practice. Using a foam vs paper air filter (and having a spare all oiled up and ready to go) is also a good practice. The ride to Alaska is pretty much a highway slog. The bike should be more than capable of running 60-70 mph all day on that leg of your journey.

My son sunk his jeep in a pond and hydro locked it. After getting it out of the pond, we pulled the spark plugs and turned it over. Shot water out of the spark plug holes like a garden hose! Let it air out for a few days, changed the oil, battery, and filters. Put in new spark plugs and it fired up after a few tries. If you get water in the oil make sure to change the oil as soon as possible. Water and oil might not mix but they can foam up in the engine and stop lubricating. Even better is to change the oil once and run the vehicle for a little while and then change the oil again.

Any time your bike goes into water like that, there's a possibility that some got sucked into the air filter/intake tube/cylinder. It's always best to take off the airbox cover, make sure the air filter and intake tube is dry. Take the filter out, let it dry, wipe out any water in the air box and make sure there isn't any water in the intake tube. Take the spark plug out and crank the engine a few seconds to blow out any water and let everything dry for an hour, put the air filter in the sun. If you have a cleaning kit, give the air filter a wash and reoil, put the spark plug back in and you should be ok.
