This song makes me happy. It feels like the music is saying "the ending you wanted. Here it is". For the first time in Clannad, there's no catch. Everyone finally gets to be happy, no settling for anything less. They made it. It's not bittersweet, it's just plain sweet.

This anime will always be 1 for me

This show broke me in half, and as I scrambled to put the two halves back together, it broke me into a million pieces. But in that process, this show taught me so much. People always look down their nose at anime, as though we could never learn anything from it, but this show... this taught me what family is truly about. I hope one day to have my own family and lead a happy life like Tomoya, Nagisa and Ushio were able to in the end.

I literally get chills every time that piano kicks in at 1:56 in the anime. With the world collapsing in on itself, it's like you can hear the last bit of life clinging on as the girl fades with the light. I can't help but feel overwhelmed with awe and gratitude. I love it.

I’ve commented once before about how this song inspired me to write and create my own music on the piano. As of the past 2 months I’ve returned to reading sheet music and have grown faster than I ever have on the piano before I took my break from it. Tonight I looked up the sheet music for this piece and looking it over I realized that this song is finally in my realm of possibilities to learn, whereas before I only saw it as an overly complicated but amazingly beautiful song that I could never learn. All I can say is I’m so happy I watched through this series again 6 months ago. Because of it I’m in a place of happiness I never knew I would be today.
