I watched this video yesterday before my beer league game. I controlled the post pretty well for the night but I did let one in on the short side and immediately knew what had happened. Thank you for the informative video. I've been goaltending for 1-2 months now.

Thanks for watching the video! Welcome to the goaltending community! Positioning is always key. Keep it simple in net. Eyes move first/Always Square to the puck/Lead with our stick!

Literally screamed "YES!" regarding the dump truck movement for my '10 goalie!

This video is exactly what I was looking for thank you. It's surprisingly tricky to find videos focused solely on movement fundamentals.

I was king of the beer league a played in cause I seemed to be the only goalie that understands angles and when to challenge and when to stay deep.

Great video highlighting the first skating skills a goalie should be practicing.

Good drill but the theory behind it isnt about what the shooter sees, because thats different than what space is actually available from the puck's pov. The pucks pov is different on the ice vs the shooter's eyes.
@coachpetrak85413 жыл бұрын
Of course the pucks eyes are different from the shooters! But the puck doesn't shoot itself, as long as your angle is good on the puck you need to get the shooter to think he has no net to shoot at. He will then deke, you controlled him to deke by handling your depth
@greathoonta34612 жыл бұрын
That’s a good point, as a shooter I often find myself finding more room at half height or lower on a goalie because a lot of goalies use a players eyes. But, what goalies should look for is a players foot work.
