How humbly Nick speaks of writing one of the BEST and one of my most favorite bass breaks of all time in Slow Ride - the rest of the song's bass line is awesome as well! Great job Mr. Jameson!! I had my suspicions, but thanks for verifying in part 1 of this interview that the main Foghat bass was Fender Jazz! What an excellent sound you achieve on that bass!

Great story, we always wondered why there was a short version to such a great long banger. Oh and the bleep censored ending to this video was hilarious ( Bleep, bleep, bleep, bleep, bleep......bleep, bleep ) Joe Pesci and Samuel L Jackson would be proud 😂👍

I know NOTHING about making music. But I know what I like to hear, what moves me, what I appreciate. When Verdine said “we’re just vessels” it hit my heart. Musicians like Verdi e, Stevie Ray Vaughn, just let their talent play out. They don’t take credit for it. So humble, and that makes them so magical in my eyes, and ears. I WISH I had a fraction of the talent they have, to create, instead of appreciate.

Thank you so much for this. It makes me smile and brings back some great memories. I was lucky enough to get to know TM & his wife Taka in the Early 80's when I was just 19. I had met TM when he stayed in my parents hotel in England whilst touring in a Jazz band. I told him I always wanted to go to New York & He gave me his number and said if I ever came to New York look him up. So i did go to New York and i did called him up. He was amazing, looked after me, made sure I was NY aware. It was the early 80's so not the safest place. TM would invite me out to all his gigs ,he was playing in several bands around N.Y I met lots of really great musicians. iI was only later that i started to find out how many hit songs he had played on. I moved back to England and we lost touch but I will always remember his kindness. A great musician and just the coolest person to spend time with.

Great blues!!! Seeing Nick again reminds me of the time I worked at SUNTREADER STUDIO's in Sharon VT back in the late 70's! What a great Studio and one of classic rocks best ROCK albums!! FOOL FOR THE CITY by Foghat and Nick was instrumental on that album!! The good old days!!! ~ Svend, Gilford NH
