Thank you so much for subscribing! I am new at making videos, and just do it to share my life. It’s really fun to show people what life is like as an expat in Korea. Hopefully I will make more fun videos to entertain you.

Yeah I really don't get why fruit is so expensive in South Korea. There is so much agriculture land there but I guess there is literally no one in the countryside growing them. I mean don't South Koreans have a concept of farming as a job vocation and can't they make quite a bit of money during harvest if they just grow fruit? But noooo, so many young youth of South Korea are fixated on cities and moving/living there and complaining about having no jobs etc...when there is LITERALLY a gaping need for more, cheaper fruit produce there but no one is willing to go to the countryside and grow them. Looks like the government isn't really much of a help either to promote this.

The fruit truly is expensive. Actually, locally produced fruit is more expensive than imported fruit! Most domestic foods such as beef and pork are more expensive than imported ones. This is for a few reasons. One is Koreans think the quality is much better so the price is elevated. It is kind of a luxury to eat Korean beef. Another reason is because of farming. While I do agree with you, most younger generation strive for city life, I do disagree with there being a lot of agricultural land. 70% of Korea is made up of mountains. This makes it difficult to farm. I currently live in the countryside and not in the city. Even though I am in the countryside, unless I want to farm on a hillside, there is not much flat land for agriculture. I also laugh whenever I am traveling in Korea. On road trips, I feel like I spend half of the drive in tunnels alone since the country is basically mountains. All thing considered, it is interesting the prices of food, but also more interesting that usually imported foods are cheaper than domestic. Hopefully, in the future there is a better way to combat these price tags and the inflation that is making them worst.

@@WayGoodinKorea Great info! Good to know and I appreciate the insight.

Everything is a bit cheaper than the supermarkets in California except for those apples... they should import apples from Washington state at least 5x cheaper and probably better. Thanks for sharing the video
@WayGoodinKoreaАй бұрын
The watermelon here is even more expensive! I guess at least the apples are huge since they are expensive- even thought they are domestic.

@7:20 actually not much different than America... if you live in a big city like NY you will have to find a place like that and not free... and if you live in rural korea like 강원도 bunny hills every where and free

@3:03 scaffolding was used to build an arch. I highly recommend you visit this area since it's so much better/neater hanok area than the famous hanok area bukchon. From the right side of the palace 경복궁 you will find the Polish embassy just south of the National Museum of Modern Art. There is an alley between the Polish Embassy and the 7/11 store. Take this alley and you will find a noodle restaurant, then turn left and walk about 50m you will find this very peculiar traditional hanok house at the corner with a red sign “SCHUMACHER”. Just a residential home with this unexpected sign.. so I asked people around the house but no one knew of the history of the sign. No tourists at all. Then turn right to find a hanok cafe 한옥카페 cordialement (카페 꼬르지엘모) better than 오니온 ONION. Make sure to weave through all the narrow alleys and you will arrive at the open nature park 송현녹지광장 a breathtaking view.

I recently visited your KZbin channel and noticed that it has a visually appealing design. However, upon futher inspection , I identified several areas that could use improvement . one crucial aspect is Search Engine Optimization (SEO) , particularly the implementation of rank tag and tag volume .it seems like these elements have not been fully addressed on your channel . there may be other issues as well, but these are the ones that stood out to me

The market looked interesting. Maybe including more specific things, like asking for less crowded or non touristy place suggestions, if you were to ask chatgpt again.
@WayGoodinKorea9 ай бұрын
I’ve actually tried a few different prompts, but it always gave tourist places regardless. But, it makes since- the internet isn’t going to know many less known places since it’s not really posted anywhere and is more just local knowledge. However, maybe if I search in Korean and not English it would give me better answers? Also, sometimes it would tell me cafes that no longer exist, so I think it uses old information. The market is very famous, I’ll show you another market sometime that has better food!

@WayGoodinKorea true. And if the internet catches on to those spots, they'll become busy too. 🤣

We call them "one room" (or two-room. the one is not necessarily a number, more like a form of housing) not apartments. In Korea, the cozy, beautiful place you are showing is not an apartment, but a "one room / office - tel" depending on what kind of building its located. Most common housing for University students away from their home-town, and not in the dorms.
