Only issue I see is if you are buying these NM on tcgplayer/card shop I would imagine they aren't going to be 10s you might get lucky picking them up from a random seller on ebay that doesn't care to grade them but for an actual card seller I would think they would just grade the card themselves if they think its good enough for a 10. I'm tempted though to pick up some of the Obsidian Flames ETBs and getting the charmanders plus whatever I get in the packs that's worth it graded if they look good enough.

You'd be surprised how many shops and sellers only deal with volume of selling singles. Usually the way to go is sellers that have multiples "4 or more" you test your luck for a gradable copy and sell the others back in the market. But for sure best to buy singles where you can actually see them, like local shops or ebay

@@NaturalAnimalKG you're just showing that you have no clue about investing. It's MUCH easier for a $5 raw card to double in value than it is for the same card in PSA 10 at like $50+.

@@kingbaschdor5649 yeah thats it, my collection is worth more than your 401k kid. And when you need to sell your $10 "double in value" cards, nobody wants them. But they do want the $5 card you paid $15 to grade in PSA 10 for $100+.... so yeah, I dont know shit about investing. Bozo

Only do something like that if you really really want that card in a 10 for your personal collection. Unless your economy of scale is massive (like buying and grading 200+ copies of the card) you’re likely going to break even at best and probably lose money. Even if you do super well on submissions by the time you get everything back, then manage to liquidate that amount of the same card (can’t flood the market at once or you’ll crash the price) you’re likely going to be wayyyyy behind what throwing that same amount of money in a mutual fund or something would have returned. Always something to keep in mind with a situation like this.

Suggestion for improvement; include the psa population and percentage of cards that did get a 10. puts it into context if I need to send in 3-4 cards to get a ten, or if one in 20 gets a ten cz the print run was 💩 example magikarp, hard to get a 10

As someone that just started collecting Pokémon cards about 2 months ago this was cool to watch. Quick question. So I really went into this blindly, I know nothing new nothing about these cards going into it. So as I opened packs if the cards were ex, v, vmax full art, super shiney or abnormal number sequence I would immediately put those cards into penny sleeves then hard top loaders. When you do that w brand new cards where do those cards grade numbers typically come back at? It sounds like even brand new cards can grade around 6,7 or 8 on average? In your opinion, on brand new cards that go straight from pack to penny sleeve/hard top loader, what percentage do you think comes back at a 10? Lol your answer will help me determine if I should spend the money to have the cards I have so far graded or not. In just 2 months I'm about 4k$ deep and my wife isn't exactly thrilled and when I told her I was going to spend hundreds on grading she was even less thrilled. Any feedback would be appreciated. New sub, thanks for going through the cards you're getting graded. I love the art on these cards. I'm addicted and having a blast!

Welcome back to the hobby. It really depends on the condition of the card, you have to keep an eye out for those damaged corners with white dots. Edges of cards if they haven’t been cut properly and have the uneven white lines or fuzz. Centering of the borders front / back. Any print lines / scratches on the holo itself… these factors can all lower the grade of a card. Generally a good practice to sleeve cards regardless of grading. Maybe you sell them as a single if not graded

I personally love the sleepy Zorua, the Horsea & the Cresselia, and its really cool that we now have IRs of Houndour & Houndoom. The issue is I can just buy all of these cards for probably pretty cheap, because as you said there’s not many cards to hit which will make the hit rate nice. I’m copping the promos and then I see no value in ripping this set

My thoughts exactly. I already bought a few copies of Houndoom, Zorua, and Cassiopia from a Japanese seller. Once the english side comes out I'll be doing the same with singles and the promos. Just don't feel the itch to rip packs for this one

I can’t believe there are people like this who just doesn’t care about artwork on the hobby. Yeah I’m not a fan of the loyal 3 either but if you’re going to tell me you don’t think those illustrations rares, then you truly are in the wrong hobby. They are beautiful cards. You also forgot to mention the fact the loyal 3 irs are in the set. Saying the gold cards are irrelevant is crazy. Gold earthen vessel will be very popular.

Art is subjective after all, I'm sure there are cards you don't appreciate while others would pay top dollar for them. It's not your call to say if I'm in the right hobby or not. I love the houndoom art and a few others that I already bought in Japanese regardless of value. We all have our way of collecting

Yeah most people don’t realize it’s a game as well. I have no clue how you can be invested in the hobby and not have an understanding on how to play the game. It completely changes your perspective on my certain cards are priced a certain way.

Hi, it hasn’t released yet. Stellar miracle (Japanese) comes out July 19th and you can either try to chase it in packs or buy the single. Hope that helps
