I had a weird experience that first got me into Townes’ music. Believe it or not, the song “If I Needed You” came to me in a dream also. This was a around the time my dad died and I was having really vivid dreams (or maybe I was just more open and eager to interpret the meaning of my dreams), one night that full song came to me in a dream. It was weird, I had heard bits and pieces of music in dreams before but this was almost like a music video. I woke up singing the song. I didn’t know what it was or where or if I’d heard it but I knew it was a professionally written song obviously. I literally looked up the lyrics from my dream to find the song and it lead me to Townes. I’d heard of him years ago from being on the Big Lebowski soundtrack but never did a deep dive into his work. That was about 10 years ago and I now proudly say that Townes is my favorite songwriter of all time…you can imagine how strange it was for me when I found out that the same song came to Townes in a dream also.

I've known Jim for about 40 years. He's one of my favorite people, as gracious and as personable a guy as people say he is. He is one of the stars of country music, someone who ties together songwriting with performing, with his SIRIUS show with Buddy Miller, being the MC for Americana awards, and spanning bluegrass to country rock to classic country and writing hits for big-screen movies. Oh, and being a two-time Grammy winner. I'm proud to know him and call him my friend!

I heard Jerry Jeff at Sand Mountain Coffee House. One night he announced he was moving to DC to join a Folk Rock band. First he had a new song about a guy he met in New Orleans The song did well. He returned to Texas and hired the Lost Gonzo Band. Added songs by other Texas songwriters to his sets. Based in Austin they played many fine shows at Liberty Hall in Houston Born in New York and not named JJW he learned his true name after hitting the road with a guitar. Just like Ramblin Jack Appeared in a novel as Jacky Jack. Billy Joe Shaver was Texan to the core. Waylon's album of his songs is the very best Outlaw music

Whereas the '98 team was all power and pitching finesse, the '84 team was scrappy. They were nutty, fly by the seat of your pants. The Atlanta brawl summarizes that team to me.

very nicely done.. it’s a Emmy Lou Harris , sneaky Pete weren’t there. I would have to question the taste from this having flames in the background, since he was set on fire with gasoline by his friend Val in the coffin. He left the BYRDS just said just as he taught them. All of his country and folk songs Fired from the band because he refused tour in South Africa. had a big record. Then put together the burrito Brothers, but instead of up playing Woodstock. a train trip across the country, taking so many drugs and alcohol. They were rusty when the shows came around.. He could’ve done so much more
