Dude you rock. I put the edge of the tag in a vice and held the other end with pliers. Used a hand saw and cut through super easily. Lots of haters out there telling you to buy a $20 magnet. This method works in less than 5 minutes.

Wife just bought me a pair of swim trunks, and they didn't remove the security device. I didn't want to spend time sawing on it. I took it to the garage, and used my bench grinder, to take the nub off of it. Got it down where I could grab the spring with a needle nose pliers. I was careful to keep the material away from the grinder.

Funny thing is that you could've just used the magnet you have sitting on the table. Would've been removed in seconds

No need to saw. Use an old steak knife and heat knife point red hot. 1/2 inch down from tip, push red hot knife perpendicular with the tip until progress completely around the tip, heating the knife point several times. Pry off the tip and remove spring and metallic elements. Pull the plastic components apart and discard.

so ive watched about half a dozen of these now and yall are trippn. Take earth magnets (with enough pull force for say 12 lbs) and touch it to the "bildge" at the fron tof the device. From the back of the device push in, then pull out. The locking mechanism is a simple plunger thats released by magnatism. Regular magnets wont work, you can find rare earth mags on amazon for dirty cheap. I have a block with about 450 lbs of pull for 20 bucks

I have a ink device on my shoes but it never set off an alarm when I walked out of store. The box stayed in my cart when I checked out. I dont live close to the store but I don't want to mess up my expensive shors

Why not just use the pliers to cut the little steel from the middle of the security tag??? Is that not possible?

So lagit this is the easiest way to remove it simple and pretty fast just gotta be careful on the burning part but for the most park worked great
