There's no way people are turning towards Catholicism. Evangelicals have major problems too but not nearly as much perversion of the Bible as Catholicism.

Yes. He is the Truth. He is the Logos. Truth in Greek, in your Bible means Authentic, Reliable, "as it appears". Logos means Reason, the ethos of ideas we convey through words, aka Word. To speak a "word" is to share an idea through words. In Jesus, through Jesus all things were made. You do not know the scriptures and you do not know what you are saying. Since the beginning, God's invisible qualities (reason/logos/Word, Truth, Love, etc) have been seen in all that was made. This is all scripture. This is your God's Word to you. You need to repent of your intellectual dishonesty and willingness to use God's word to push something you don't understand and push what are actually lies against Christ. Anyone who follows the truth, as scripture teaches us, is following Christ, whether they know it or not.

I think the emphasis should be on Chasity rather than purity. We lack the infrastructure of chaperones of the past so many lose their virginity and then get shunned out of the community- it is why so many women are leaving the Church. There is even infrastructure set up to trick women, to pressure women, and even to rape women and get away with it. It is very difficult to avoid these pitfalls as a young naive woman. So many dates involve being alone with a man. Infrastructure needs to be rebuilt to protect both men and women. Also with porn, we now have the problem of perverted virgins. People who are virgins but yet are not chaste. Virginity was a good indicator in the past, and it is still a good sign, but now the issue is a bit more complicated as more than virginity is required. Action Items (1) Hold chaperone weekly date night (with bonding activities) and dances at the Church. Some ideas might be holding contra dancing night and team building activities. (2) Work to bring back free chaperones for dating. Witness help to avoid the social anarchy of dating. It protects men from the fear of false allegations and women from harassment. (3) Hire a young adults coordinator for activities

Great ideas Kaitlin, it's true the world has become very unfriendly to family centred, wholesome, courtship. But we can be the change we need to see, God bless

Kaitlin, you’re bringing up a very important and difficult issue. Living in a society where premarital sex is common can indeed be challenging, especially for someone who wants to stay true to their faith. As you mentioned, creating supportive structures and healthy boundaries for both women and men is crucial. Regarding naivety, I believe we all go through experiences where we learn along the way. No one is perfect, and what matters is learning from past mistakes and moving forward stronger and more aware. Sometimes we may lose our way and fall into sin, but that doesn’t mean we should justify the sin. Instead, we should strive to keep our children away from it whenever possible. Additionally, it's important to remember that labeling people as “chaste but promiscuous” or “virgin but impure” oversimplifies the reality. People may commit small sins to avoid falling into greater ones, and these actions can be misleading. It’s essential not to reduce people to their mistakes, but to encourage them to strive for a higher moral standard. As you said, it’s not just about virginity anymore, but also about inner purity and integrity, which have become even more complicated in today’s world. It’s important for all of us to hold on to these values, and as a community, we should support each other in doing so. I hope we can create a safer and more supportive environment for both men and women. May God bless you and your family, and give you strength in this journey.

What if this is just a thought; what if marriage is not for me??? I ask this because I'm still single at 34, going on 35 this year. In a couple of years I'll be 40 maybe I waited too long, who knows. But all I can say that marriage is not always for everyone, but I can't take this desire of being with someone away from me.

If you are a healthy man you should look for a wife or live chastitily. Or maybe be a man of God.

My college roommate who was the most chaste man I ever met, was a virgin when he got married at 36, now has a little girl and a little boy on the way. My uncle who didn’t get married until he was in his FORTIES!!! Was known to date prolifically but always a gentleman. The ladies were all home by ten or were chaperoned if our later, was a virgin on his wedding night and proud of it. He has four kids and at last count 12 grandkids. I waited until I was 28 (also my wedding night). I have fought on three continents, six deployments, swam with sharks, whales, and countless parasite and contaminants, ridden bulls, been charged by Alaskan brown bears and all around chosen a challenging life. Waiting for marriage and being faithful in marriage is the hardest thing i have ever done BY FAR. It is the behavior that created western Christendom aka civilization. Literally the world depends on you being faithful.

Thats called sin. Not the sex part per se, but the part where we tell God listen I know what you want, but I want this other thing, and I want what I want. Marriage may not be your calling. I'd suggest most certainly not if its primarily for the sex. Doesn't mean you should enter a religious order either. Perhaps you're called to live a chaste life. I wish you luck with your discernment. But I pray you don't decide to settle on what you want and ignore God.

I distinctly remember the disruption caused by Herald Camping's May 21, 2011 rapture prediction. I remember the caravans. I remember the news coverage. I remember those people who gave up their jobs and their life's savings to support the campaign. The only difference between Camping and other Christians is that he was brave enough to actually set a date, and it wasn't the first time either. Camping set a date back in the 90s. Then he waited about 10 years and predicted the 2011 date. Christianity brings with it the destruction I expect it to, because it already has to a number of people.

Excellent session!! God bless Fr Douglas!! Prayers for our persecuted brethren in the Middle East, North Africa, China, Korea, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, India etc Also prayers that Christians in the west wake up and grow more of a spine....not just the laity but also our leaders regardless of denomination. If we had even half the grit or resilience shown by those like Fr Douglas and our persecuted brethren abroad (much like the Early Church), we can rise out of this secularly dominated world and turn the world upside down!! Prayers for us all to be more faithful to our calling and live it out!
