Quite a bit of a palava with 3 very different bikes on an unfamiliar-to-you trailer but I suppose that once you get it all adjusted, it'll be straightforward. I was thinking of getting a Motolug but couldn't justify the £1200+ tag for an "occasional use" trailer. Even a tatty, rough example was £400+ (& still climbing, it was an eBay auction).

@@stephenphillip5656 that was literally the very 1st time putting it all together, now I know what I'm doing I recon it takes about 15 mins in total. Personally, it fits my needs, I don't have anywhere to store a full size trailer so having the ability to dismantle it to store it in the corner of the garage is handy. As for the price, I bought mine new from the factory but as a slight second because of a couple of paint blemishes so had a discount on it. (Give them a call to see if they have any others) Having piece of mind that it's structurally sound with new wheel bearings, tyres etc means I haven't had to worry about anything failing on it, unlike a second hand trailer that you don't know the history of.

Makes me laugh how Scooterists refer to the Mods of today as ''Comedy Mods'' SURELY gentlemen if they are Comedy Mods then you lot are ''Comedy Scooterists'' as you dress the same now as you did in the early 80's and still listen to the same old music over 40 years later.
@cyclops-fpv Жыл бұрын
Yeah that's kinda the point,but us true scooterists ride gear'd scooters and not Auto Chinese lookalikes,the comedy's haven't put in the miles or the years we have.

Did you get the scooter safely on the trailer in the end? I am thinking of getting this trailer for my Vespa 250GTS. thanks
@ukhornet23 Жыл бұрын
Yes, but without realising I had hit the exhaust and broke it. I've now got a vespa GTS hpe and use a folding loading ramp to give it the extra clearance that's needed.
@007brid Жыл бұрын
@@ukhornet23 Thanks for that but apart from having to have the extra ramp to get it on the trailer does the Vespa fit OK once in place? is it nice and secure? and does the front wheel fit OK in that holder thing? Thanks
@ukhornet23 Жыл бұрын
@@007brid yes, the front wheel holder is adjustable for different size wheels, so no problem for a vespa. It holds it steady while the ramp is still angled without any other straps/tethers etc, then you can pull the locking pins to put the trailer horizontal to strap the scooter down. I bought Oxford handlebar straps to help secure it & also ratchet strap the grab rail to the trailer. 1 of the ratchet straps have come unhooked from the trailer before so I now cable tie them in place and this works fine. It's a great little trailer that I'd recommend to anyone.

@@ukhornet23 That's great help and info thanks for that. Good to talk to someone with almost the same Vespa and the exact trailer I want 👍

Went to far too many of these in the late 70s/80s of my own friends, 8 in total all through bike accidents....the RD250/400 years. I still ride a Busa today aged 60 , very lucky to have made it. Not saying this was a road accident, just meaning the event, its very sad. Respect to the Fella, we are all biking friends no matter what we ride. W Yorks

I have not seen that many scooters together since the 60s and what a great time that was, I first had a Vespa GS 160It was white and royal blue, I had the fairing the fly screen and the side rails and a lot of lights and other ornaments, it looked really good and it was very fast for a scooter. I really miss those days and I stopped riding when I passed my car test when I was 17 years and even though I had two more scooters, that was the best of times and I bet that this guy enjoyed being a member of the scooter club for the whole of his adult life, because even back then, it was not a scooter club buy it really felt like it was.
