Bravo on the 237 / 14 in the centre column! Tough spot

I'm looking forward to watching your solution. So few people do notation-free solving of these not-so-hard “Hard” puzzles. I did it as a speed run, but I didn't have to explain my reasoning to anybody. Here's my path, just for variety (36 = row 3 column 6; second write-in): 33, 36, 77, 49, 48, 37, 38, 87, 27, 57, 68, 35, 39, 95, 88, 65, 75, 82, 11, 13, 83, 93, 89, 18, 26, 86, 98, 81, 91, 84, 94, 44, 61, 66, 58, 79, 99, 78, 92, 73, 96, 76, 69, 68, 19, 29, 22, 12, 24, 46, 54, 16, 14, 41, 43, 21, 23, 51, 53. And here, as a little gift, is a grid that I created today, especially for you. It's tricky without notation, but perfectly possible: 003 000 007 020 600 003 105 090 004 040 800 000 007 000 300 000 002 060 800 010 509 700 004 080 900 000 700 003000007020600003105090004040800000007000300000002060800010509700004080900000700 HoDoKu rating: Medium 908 Andrew Stuart rating: Tough Grade 113 At least one of the two formats should paste into most apps or programs that accept user-submitted puzzles.

That was quite remarkable, well done and thanks. This was a fiendish puzzle, no way I could have solved it, even with notes.

Great solve. Amazing that even though you missed the 1345 solve along the middle band that you looked at for a long time from 8:50 on (the 3 and 5 were not in the last cell due to hidden pointing you had shown earlier), placing the 4. You instead moved to find a different solution based on the 698 elimination in the same section. It just shows that every double or triple etc has an inverse.

It´s amazing how, from a seemingly hopeless situation, a low glow forms as you find one or two numbers, then a brighter light develops as you get stuck into the puzzle, which then burst open suddenly with a flash of light and, voila, its done! Good going again.
@chowlissy14 күн бұрын
That was quite brilliant, you surpassed yourself. You had a few insights which require a 6th sense in addition to an extraordinary memory, which I´ll never have.
@midwayj7216 күн бұрын
Nice solve. It's amazing how different things appear, you solved with an simpler 56 pair on the puzzle left, whereas I got a 156 triple in the bottom left corner squares from 2 pointing in lines. 2 ways to solve the same thing.
@midwayj7220 күн бұрын
This was a strange one. With conventional markings, there is a 149 triple in block 9 - giving the 4 in R8/C8, but alternatively using your usual scanning method (much easier) there was a much easier 4 in the 3 cells R8/C7-9, which gives a 1 in R9/C7. - I did not see this until loooking at it a few times after solving with notes.

Ha, this time I beat you on this time-wise! However, I did this by "cheating", I used the auto-note feature, so spotting the 138 triple in row 3 was easy, and then the puzzle unravelled. But well done again.

I love Sudoku because it beautifully illustrates a difference between a human and a computer. A computer can solve a Sudoku puzzle in milliseconds, they just do it a very different way than humans. Can you keep 89 numbers in your head at once?
@chowlissy3 ай бұрын
I struggled using notes, but you solved it without notes, much to my amazement, well done. The crucial cell was the 7 in row 2, which I didn´t spot.

Thanks again for a very interesting solution. However, at 12.00 why did you put a 1 in column 5, it could also be 8?
@Cassudoku3 ай бұрын
The only possible solutions for the two empty cells above the 1 (directly above and below the 6) were 7 and 8, so only a 1 could have gone where I put it. I will keep trying to get better at explaining my thought process as I solve these puzzles
