Very insightful, on a couple points in particular. The framing that underscores how "almost nothing is getting done in American politics" and how that affects innovation broadly. And secondly how Sheila doesn't jive with the "onboard 1 billion users" at this point in the state of technology. Love these interviews, bravo

One reason why progress is so slow is the fear of transitioning from an economy based on a depreciating currency to an economy based on a currency that continual appreciates against itself. In other words, from an economy of scarcity to an economy of abundance.

Cash is the true crypto currency . . . Correct. Nothing is more traceable than digital crypto, it is the very absolute core of open ledger. I would not be surprised to find central banks pushing crypto behind the scenes because then they will know where every hundreth of a penny has gone. 🤔

Didn't he used to be in love with the stable genius? I didn't hear him owning that one. So, let's see, that is, ego 1, due diligence 0, critical thinking 0, truthfulness 0. Why would you bother listening to him? If he isn't the product, then you are.

When USDC was hit in Cali Jeremy Allaire did everything in honor and return the funds back to the ppl. That to me spoke volumes and that's why I believe in USDC for fulfilling basic needs like paying bills like everyday ppl do. 😎👌💯

If he got his core Bitcoin position in Nov 2020 then he's up a lot. Bet your portfolio hasn't done so well. Wouldn't call that a failed crypto investor. More of a white knuckle hodler.

Thanks for hosting Niall, Jeremy. Niall was recently interviewed by Saifedean Ammous. Niall presented his objections to Bitcoin from a historical perspective, taking apart Saif’s historical arguments for Bitcoin adoption and proliferation. Here, Ferguson presents a different argument against bitcoin’s adoption: the financial illiteracy and innumeracy of most citizens of our world. How can one argue against Niall’s historical argument? He wrote the world’s most popular freakin’ book on money’s ascent! During Saif’s interview with Niall, Saif offered the historical arguments of his “Bitcoin Standard”. Ferguson tore them all apart. And I’m a huge fan of Ammous’ book and ideas! But I think his societal arguments against the rapid adoption of bitcoin are spot on. I’m an old guy planning to will my estate to my two kids. Each kid graduated from university five years ago. After tedious research into bitcoin a year ago, I decided to divert a small percentage of my estate to bitcoin. My educational journey down that bitcoin rabbit hole has been revelatory. Bitcoin adoption presumes a large knowledge of personal and macro finance. From a technical perspective, bitcoin is very difficult to grok. And I possess a lot of tech chops: I have a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, a master’s degree in mechanical engineering and master’s level education in nuclear engineering. I had twelve years of experience operating nuclear power plants on three US submarines. I went back to college to study computer engineering then spent the next twenty-five years as a software, networking and telecom engineer. Its taken me a year to learn bitcoin and I’ve only scratched the surface. Im confident in bitcoin’s success. But I’m not so confident that my inheritors can or will understand it. At 28 and 30, and with college degrees in liberal arts, their grasp of personal finance borders on being non-existent - just as my grasp of personal finance at that age was non-existent. But I learned twenty-five years ago how to track my personal balance sheet, cashflow and income/expense statements. Thank God for spreadsheets. Young adults today have been hoodwinked by central economic bodies. They only need to learn enough finance to reliably spend money. When they run out of money their first recourse is to credit. Fractional reserve banking serves them well. The most difficult job I must do as a father is to educate my 30-something kids on personal finance and why personal independence, privacy and security are fully enjoyed when removed from state influence. Both have drunk the serf’s koolaid. They’ve been trained to not have to worry about their future - that it’s not their responsibility and they need have no accountability to their future self.

So you first uploaded this video a few days ago..with the length of the video being 52:54 👀 which is normal, because your vids are always around 40mins long.. But now I see the re-uploaded vid is only 26:58... why? Is it because BlackRock made you cut out certain parts? 🤔

oh wow, the largest asset manager on the planet files for their etf in the most competitive/innovative/valuable financial technology in decades, less than a week after the SEC comes after the biggest exchanges operating with this tech on the planet... hmm nothing to see here, I like to keep my head in the sand because it's warm and comfortable, now I'm going to get angry about whatever the media puts into my mind, when really I'm just angry cos I'm really confused and also my purchasing power is slowly being eroded by central banks diluting the supply of the currency that I wage slave for - hooray for honest bankers and asset managers 🤡 lol

The most important aspect that will need to be addressed with crypto passports, or crypto unlocks as it pertains to property is the ability to both remain anonymous and be impervious to having your address blacklisted by your own government. The temptation to use crypto to restrict movement is strong. Developers and private entities developing in this space hopefully push back against that.
