Those battons cuts has to be at least three rafters length, and for integrity reasons the battons cuts cannot be done exactly on the same area, it needs to difer from the previous installed batton.

When I see things done like this it makes me want to harm myself. Roofers unfortunately don’t have the best of reputations and idiots clowning around like this doesn’t help.

Good way to get waves in the battens, doing it like this your taking a measurement from top to bottom, should measure top to top of the batten. Especially for the fact you're using 2 different suppliers

always batten plain tiles up in 8s to the top, then fill inbetween downawards, much faster. also allows for proper gauging

The rule is third of a tile offset bond, but tbh water sheds from the hip and it’ll probably be fine, you’ll be surprised, I’ve seen this a lot on bonnets in particular. Definitely not good though and nothing some tile and half’s wouldn’t fix.

Your gauge is bad. It does not allow for difference in battens. Make a proper dolly or use a tape. I only give dolly's to newbies

Sure will. Just shows how some people (not roofers) don't understand how important it is to incorporate tile and1/2 correctly too keep the required bond and keep the roof water tight.👍
