Very nice. I had to go through $4500 worth of coins just to find a single silver half dollar, but I also found three proofs, a 1986 ellis island half dollar, and a panamanian balboa. The bank also slighted me $18 in missing coins! It was a pricey challenge, but fun to find the occasional treasure.

What makes it a proof? It looks rough on the face. Is there a mark to show a proof or is it just the condition?

Proofs are minted in San Francisco so they have an S mint mark. They are handled with gloves. Shiny surface. Polished metal and struck twice. You can tell when you find one. This one has been around since 1982 so a bit scratched up.

so yesterday I went to the back got 10 penny rolls and I asked them if they had any half dollars, so they gave me 10 not 10 rolls just single half dollars no sliver just 4 1976 2 were p the other 2 were D and yes, it's been a while

When I get a box of half dollars I ask them to order another for next week. If I am lucky I get one silver half dollar from 1000 half dollars.
