Been going to Killer Shrimp for over 30yrs at their original location and at current location. I can tell you for a fact that there is absolutely no tomato paste in their recipe so you lost me at the start. Not sure what you just made.

"What's Old Bay?" Bless your hearts.... it's from the Chesapeake Bay area, that style of cooking from Maryland's eastern shore. Yes! Pan sear in cast iron and finish in the oven! You guys are honorary Marylanders now. 😊

Parker, when I had my heart attack, and then triple bypass, everything went wrong. Pneumonia, sepsis, osteomyelitis that cost me my entire sternum and two ribs. Then, they found the cancer. Four months in the hospital! They had me on four smoothies a day. They were awful, until I was finally released to home and could make them myself. I love my high protein smoothie! I replace meals with them often. Back to nursing full time now and some day, I hope to see y'all while running on the beach!

Thank you for lending your expertise to the long list of people trying it imitate the Killer Shrimp secret recipe. While this is a very respectable imitation, I don't think side by side testing would compare. I just made and ate this recipe minus the fennel seed. We live in San Antonio and are used to spicy heat, but this was far more than we care for. I don't remember (from 35 years ago) the restaurant version being that spicy. I'm modifying my copy of the recipe to use 1/3 teaspoon of crushed peppers. Also we eat shrimp a lot, and know 1/2 pound is a generous portion for 2. I'd say with 3/4 pounds of shrimp, this recipe would serve 4 hungry people.

@LisaSchoenParkerakachefbyday Жыл бұрын
You can substitute fish stock or boil shrimp shells with some water and add peppercorns and 1/2 white onion and fresh thyme. Strain and replace for clam juice

Thank you for the recipe. I have Celiac and GF products are not healthier since you need a lot more fat, sugar, or other ingredients to make it taste good. It also does not contain much fiber, so i am surprised that you mentioned that the GF panko is healthier.
