Thanks for the comment & compliment mate. I haven’t experienced any evidence to the contrary so I’m sticking with it but I agree it is a bold statement 👍

Rahtid! [That's a mild Jamaican expletive, kinda like an American saying "Hot Damn!"] I find this little reflection refreshing to this degree. As free of religious dogma as it is of of self-help pablum, it is bracing and actionable. KZbin's algorithm placed this clip in my feed, and I'm glad I opted to view it. Liked it, I'm commenting, and subscribed. I hope you keep posting, GT, and soon garner the following you deserve.

Lost my cousin at a similar age and he was my hero and best friend. This broke me and I withdrew from everything. Can't imagine the pain of losing a brother. Doubt anyone could ever fully heal from this trauma but big respect to you for speaking on this ❤

Well no, that analogy is just wrong. Neither Harry nor Jesus were reborn, Harry was just revived through that stone as he was. Jesus was resurrected and glorified through the father. But religion is mentioned in Harry Potter, when they talk about Christmas or Easter... Or Sirius as the Godfather of Harry.

Understanding the theology behind grace and the current "reap what you sow" system in place - keeping what Jesus done in mind makes this statement make sense. Its an info bomb though needs a breakdown for those struggling to get it.

... as a German Biochemist Ph D - it is Genetics the conditioning of the PAIN - Reward Pattern in the Auto Pilot to which we have NO access - no matter how hard we try to get there ever. It takes intense Inner Strength Training - a sort of „Navy Seals“ Training to de Condition from that pattern and establish a new Genetics of PAIN Reward - that restructures the Auto Pilot In a wider sense it is „De Domestication“ from the social cultural forces that program our Minds - to do things that are BAD for us - and ultimately destroy the Bio Sphere. The Auto Pilot is never addressable via rational and “verbal” means! Best Business for the Mind Opiate Drug Pushers$$$$$

Falling off the horse and getting back can be applied to everything we are struggling with in life. For me, managing my decades long depression alongside a health condition that the NHS is failing to adequately address is the horse I have repeatedly fallen from and remounted. I go through periods of doing all the right things in terms of diet, exercise, sleep, meditation, therapy and researching my condition and then I give up in despair of being no further forward, or in fact taking steps backwards, more severe depression and ever increasing symptoms. That period can last for many months before I finally haul myself back onto the horse and carry on down the road to hopefully more comfortable times. I'm now in the saddle again, doing all the things I should be doing to help myself, and finally my research is getting somewhere and I have found a doctor who understands my health condition and is going to help me, unfortunately privately. It's a postcode lottery with the NHS and my NHS trust won't fund the treatment even though others around the UK do. Hopefully my seemingly endless struggle with this aspect of my life will come to a close, freeing up my time and energy to address the other aspects that need attention, which include my adult child who I am carer for and my micro business that could be so much more than it is currently and my garden, and... and... so many things have fallen by the wayside and I can't wait to finally direct my attentions towards something other than my struggle for appropriate and necessary medical care.

That was very useful, I have had a seemingly unending series of grief, trauma, loss and ill health for the past 23 years, I'm exhausted and beaten by it all and I really need to find a path of viewing that pain a different way, I also have three very distressing things present in my daily life that I have no power to change or remove myself from, and I have been trying to find peaceful acceptance of them and failing miserably so far even with therapy. I've recently come across the idea of the self as a refuge from another channel, the idea of building a home inside yourself that you can keep returning to for peace and tranquility and love. I do keep trying meditation practice as a way of finding that refuge inside myself, sometimes I do achieve the feeling of refuge but I guess I need to keep on practicing that skill. I'm going to watch your video again. Thank you Gregor.

Thank you for this open and honest comment. I have found the pain and suffering I’ve endured is meaningful in hindsight but debilitating in the midst of it. I also find the acknowledgment and articulation of negative emotions helps me which is a form of meditation. These comments are the reason I keep posting especially when success and growth seem so far away so thank you very much for sharing and I wish you best in tackling your struggles, you are stronger than you know. Keep on struggling, Gregor

@@GregorSThomson Thank you for your reply Gregor, I'm almost 60 and can't ever remember a time when life felt this hard on a personal and wider outside level. I feel as though I'm standing upon ominously rapidly shifting sand, so much uncertainty out in the wider world whilst also dealing with everything much closer to home. I wish you luck with your channel, I very much enjoy the receiving your newsletter, I know these things can take a couple of years to really take off in terms of viewers as a content creator. Stick at it, it will be worth the struggle. Take care.

Every day feels like a struggle to me. Clinical depression and anhedonia means that even the most simple of daily tasks feel like climbing Everest, I'd quite like to struggle a bit less tbh. But I do understand how fulfilment can be found in struggle, for instance learning to play an instrument or a new language or skill, it can take hundreds of repetitions to progress and improve and learn.

Because laughter is a medicine within itself!!! A cancer patient doesn’t know they have cancer until diagnosis…. The day before they laughter and lived, but now, if they don’t laugh and live they will give up and die. No one is clinically depressed until they are diagnosed. From that moment, that becomes who they are. We’re all gonna die of something so live laugh love!! If you can’t get that simple way of life then you will overthink everything which, will intern, overwhelm you. Simple😘
