Better than the original? I think so. I put Richie Edwards on a par with Neil Peart. Great lyrics. Both of their stories are tinged with sadness and tragedy but they both left a legacy of stunning literature.

Phemomomal lyrics but credit must be given to the music too. There are very few rock songs that include such a discordant accompaniment. It really adds to the feeling of agitation and dissatisfaction portrayed in the lyrics. James is an outstanding (and very humble) musician.

Completely right. Obviously hes well respected but i don't think JD Bradfield gets enough credit for moulding Richey's completely chaotic (but still brilliant!) lyrics into the masterpieces they are.

Absolutely, the raw power and passion of the music is what makes the song what it is. The words are powerful, no doubt but the band delivers the message!

What's so lovely to hear is how James is so enthusiastic about the lyrics and says nothing about the amazing music he managed to compose to deliver it.
