I'm glad you were OK in the end. Don't stay away from the bike for too long! The iPhone 15 has a satellite SOS feature. When I was aiming the phone to the sky, I was pointing it at a satellite overhead letting 911 know what happened via text. That was a major feature for me when I got the phone. I wanted to be able to get help if a situation like this ever happened while we were out canyon riding with no cell service. When I left, I rode back to Mexico to get cell service and call AAA for the tow.

I had the Schuberth E1 and put the Cardo coms in it that was made for it, the one in the neck roll. I had to get a 2XL instead of an XL because Schuberth is a more rounded helmet. I should have gotten a 3XL but they didn't have one for me to test and I was so excited to find one less than $600 online that I bought the 2XL. It did loosen up a bit after time but it did NOT fit my head. I got a Neotec 2 back in 2018 I'm thinking. Got the SRL for it. Best fitting helmet I've ever put on my head. I used the Rode Wireless Go with a lav mic installed in the left cheek pad for years riding my Harley with a large windshield and had no problems. Back in Sept, I bought the BMW R12450 GSA and started noticing more wind noise in the helmet and it was coming in on the mic and made a lot of video footage useless on hight speeds in the interstates. I can only guess because the windshield, while offering a nice bubble of no wind buffeting, it's not the same as Harley windshield. OR...it could be that my helmet is now 6 years old and not as sound proof as it was. I've washed the liner and pads a few times over the years. Anyway, I started looking for a different mic as well but this tine I wanted a wireless mic that I could actually mount inside the helmet without having to route a lav mic in there too. The Rode wireless Go square transmitter was too big to mount inside the helmet. I found the new Hollyland Lark M2, on amazon, has small round transmitters and I double sided sticky taped one of the magnetic clips inside my chin and it works fantastic. I have the GoPro 11 Mini mounted on my chin and found a holder for the mic adapter and a cold shoe mount to hold the mic receiver and it's a fantastic combo. I have a video on the whole setup with sound and there was no wind noise. I also have a sound bit from the previous setup using the lav mic with the Rode Wireless Go system and the difference is day and night. If you don't mind, I'll leave a link to that video here. You can delete it if you prefer. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n6WYaJafZsp_os0si=CQJnpChKUxltIEBZ But the entire mic system is only $179 for the combo kit that comes with 2 phone adapters. One with the lightening adapter for the iPhones and one with a USB C tab for the new iPhone 15 and android phones, plus the original receiver that can be plugged into a DSLR camera too. It comes with a box that holds a couple of charges, 2 clips and some lanyards and everything you need to get up and running. It is a very nice system now. I also just ordered a new Neotec 2. I cannot find a Neotec 3 to try on and I'm not spending over a grand for a helmet that I cannot try on. They are plenty of helmets in warehouses but I've not found a new Neotec 3 in a store yet. The warehouses won't let you come in and try one on. Maybe a year or so later. But I hear the sunscreen comes way down too far and hits your nose. I've heard that from a lot of reviewers. The Sena SRL 2 version 2 with the Mesh system in it works very well now. Just pair your phone to the BMW, then pair your helmet to the BMW... but do not pair the phone to the helmet. The Sena system with fight to pair with the motorcycle and the phone. So by pairing the phone to the motorcycle only, and pair the Sena to the motorcycle only, they link up just fine through the motorcycle system.

@@horatio8764 I just bought the Sena SRL version 2 with the mesh sync system and I can go a week between charges listening to music and making phone calls on my way to and from work. I’ve even left it in the bike pannier still on for 12 hours and still got a week work out of it. I took a 6 hour trip over two days without charging and it was on the whole time and it lasted 3 more days of work riding before I had to recharge it again. The batteries in the new systems are definitely better than the ones in the original SRL from 4-5 years ago.

Heya, I also have a schuberth C5 and let me tell you, I cannot put it when it's closed. I always need to open it (to remove it too). I think it might be related to the sound insulation on the neck, its just too tight there to let me put it easily. On the other hand, the fit is really nice. I also tried the next size but then I would feel it would be a bit loose. About the comms, I also bought the SC2 since the helmet already comes prepared for it. Then I can connect the mic directly to the gopro12 via bluetooth. No wires or extra hassle and it has decent sound quality. I bought a 1200GS recently and my biggest grip with the equipment is with the boots, I find it way harder to shift gears when using boots, similar shape to yours (I have the Alpine Stars Belize). Love your bike. I hope you are having a great time with it :)

I had to upsize to a 2XL with the Schuberth E1, different fit as it's a more round helmet. I also had to open it to fit it on my head and when closing it, I had to hold both sides of the helmet inward to get the locks to engage on both sides. It was a quiet helmet, but not the right size for my head. The Neotec 2 was so good I'd have thought they used my head as the mold. I took out the cheek pads when trying it on and it slid down on my head like a fitted glove! Just ordered another Neotec 2 yesterday. Cannot find a Neotec 3 to try on and the Neotec 2's are on a fantastic sale now. Like $250 off regular price with free shipping on eBay.

Hi Tony! You must have seen my phone in a wide angle. It was my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and only has a screen size of 6.8". It was mounted on a BMW ConnectedRide Cradle which I bought at the dealership when it first came out last year for my F900R and my BMW dealer was more than happy to transfer to my new ride. I understand that Navi preparations or multi-controller equipments came standard for Motorrad models so you can conveniently mount your phones and navigational equipments. Very essential for me as I use it for nav, listening to music on Spotify (as seen on this video), opening my garage via app, etc. Another good thing to that is you never lose juice as it charges my phone, too😁 Here's a link for the equipment: www.bmwmotorcycles.com/en/individualisation/accessories/navigation-and-communication/connectedride-cradle.html

Congrats on your new ride! It's a great bike - I've owned 23 different bikes in my life and the GSA is one of the very best and what I ride today. My advice would be to take as much training as you can, especially if you want to take it off road. It's super capable but at 600 lbs it's a lot of bike. ☺ Ride safe.
