Yeah I remember when I was very religiously arrogant. I used to talk about and laugh when I discussed other denominations. When I was a younger Christian I did all those things. I think those studies are called “First Principles “ but they’re not the last principles. A lifetime of learning. I appreciate that you didn’t just say the church is a cult and you should never have anything to do with them. God deals with us as individuals. I left the church for over twenty years. I was living in deliberate sin for most of those years. I thought I was lost for good. A Timothy Keller book brought me back from utter despair. I now attend the “SF bay fellowship”. It’s a group of ICOC former members that left a ICOC chapter that changed its name to the Bay Area Christian Church. The church is autonomous but is affiliated with the ICOC. Anyway they changed all the former ICOC mistakes. I still struggle with weather I was properly converted. I wonder if I just joined a “church” because I was afraid of going to hell. The ICOC, when I was met, was big on warning you that God was going to get you if your not saved! I’m seeking therapy currently. For other things besides the church background. You are very courageous. I followed and believed everything I was told until years after I left. I got advice for everything. I wasn’t a Bible talk leader so I believed I couldn’t have a girlfriend.
