Good Lord. That is one of the most complex chord melody arrangements I've ever seen or heard. He is world class.....Kudos 👍👍😳

I just gave this album a listen today and was awestruck with how front and center Ed Bickert is, his amazing comping and chordal solos prevail throughout. Thank you for the transcription!!

some corrections: F in 3-note chord in bar 10 should be an Eb; 2nd 16th note in bar 14 is an A natural (not a Bb); last chord in bar 15 consists of three notes, and has an Ab on top; 3rd from last note in bar 16 is a D natural (not Db); beat 4 of bar 17 has a C (not Db) on top of Gb; first two chords of bar 22 have a Gb on the bottom; the voicing on 2+ of bar 27 is (from bottom up): G-Db-F-C; next two voicings are Gb-C-F, then Gb-C-Eb; there's a low G natural on 4+ in bar 30, and a C natural on beat one of the next bar (31); the voicing on beat 3 and 4 is (from the bottom) Db-G-C; the voicing on 4+ and 1+ (of bar 32) is C-Gb-Bb. I'll stop there, for now but there's more on the top line. 🙃

I'd love to hear more of this, including Ed's comping (there's more to music than solos). What is the source of this recording? Nice bassist too.

Always love me an Ed Bickert transcription. He's a magician who makes simple things sound hip as F. It's always: what is this cool hip chord he's playing? Gotta figure it out. 10 minutes later: is it really just a major triad?

The E in bar 6 needs a #. Guitar should be down an octave in bar 13, and first note of bar 14 and I think the guitar is playing quarter notes (shorter value on beats 1 & 3) in bar 13. E needs a flat in bar 32. I'll stop for now.
@Hijodenels2 ай бұрын
Kick-ass challenge however I'm confused by the 9/8 bar (I'm assuming that WITHOUT the metric modulation that the 8th-notes in 9/8 would be the same as the 8ths in the opening 3/4 & 4/4 bars). The 8ths in the 9/8 bar seem like 16ths (doubled values). And FYI dotted quarter to quarter should SLOW DOWN tempo. So what I'm hearing is quarter equals half-note at the 9/8 bar and no M.M at all for the following 3/4 bar. But maybe I'm misinterpreting. 🙂

Very nice. A couple things I noticed while reading through. Bar 5: 7th 16th-note is D natural (instead of D#); Bar 10: I'd attach a G natural grace-note to the 3rd 16th-note of beat 3 (the F#); Bar 11: the last septuplet in beat 3 is a Bb (instead of B natural)); Bar 25: 1st grace-note and 3rd 16th-note are F naturals (or E#'s if you prefer).
