I have a St.Louis Browns cap like the bottom one in the middle.Had they moved to Los Angeles,I would have changed their name to Blue Sox.The AL would have had the Red Sox on the East Coast, White Sox in the Midwest and Blue Sox on the West Coast, all three colors of Old Glory. If some city such as San Jose, Sacramento or Salt Lake City ever get an AL franchise,I hope they consider that name.My parents and I drove by Mission Stadium when we went to HemisFair in 1968.

Boy, baseball was great back in those days! I wish the telecast had been kinescoped and saved. This occurred when "Dragnet" was in its heyday, which makes me wonder why Chief Parker didn't send Joe Friday to the brawl; maybe he was out on another assignment.

That Browns to LA move is the biggest what if in MLB history. Had it occured, i think MLB expansion occurs far sooner

It definitely would have changed a lot and made things rather exciting.

I have been to the old site of the former Paris Lakers. It's a small ballpark that by no means could even house a summer collegiate league club, but nice to know there is a place to check out the history of the game on your channel.

My understanding is that one of the minority owners of the L A Dodgers is the effective current owner of the OKC Triple A team. That is why this affiliation exists. But I do not think this is an ideal situation for the L A Dodgers. Given the distance between the two cities, shuffling personnel up and down is too time consuming and expensive. I think at some point L A is going to want to find an affiliate closer to home as many of the other 29 MLB teams have done. Stuart in L A.

I remember when the Stompers moved to Queens. The whole situation where one MLB team owns and operates a team that is affiliated with another MLB team was tough to wrap my head around then.. Feels like there would be too much opportunity to sabotage the team though

The early 1950s was not a good time to own a minor league ball club!

Really enjoyed this - gonna subscribe and check out the rest! Doesn’t look like my cities team is large enough for a video but Google the Greenville Drive - 🫡 The team has only existed for like 20 years, but it’s also the only minor-league team whose name I have seen get declined and revoked for being too controversial

That's an interesting and informative video, and the first time I've heard of this channel. The NL President was Warren Giles, not "Biles." This is the first time I've ever heard of a team named Sox without a colour. That 1953 Boston Braves scorecard is a real collector's item.

Thank you for watching. The Toledo Sox are also the only Sox team we've ever heard of that did not have a color attached to their name. Ebbets Field Flannel lists them as the Toledo Glass Sox on their merch page. But I did not come across any other sources that called them the Glass Sox.

I'm a minor league nerd myself, and every time I go to a new stadium I make sure to purchase one of those "souvenir vessel" helmet cups that the ice crean comes in I wanted to collect real hats, but I'm too broke for that so I had to settle So far I have 5 minor league helmets and 2 from the majors, but this summer I hope to add at least four more to my collection, with my goal being a complete AA Southern League collection by the end of the 2025 season
