I'd love to see how you put the molding paste on your canvas to get more texture. Wow, I've never heard of that before.

I loved this video; I would never have guessed that is how you load your brush. I am new to this. Obviously. I found it very helpful. 'Thank you for sharing your expertise/talent with us all.

Can these techniques be used when doing acrylic painting also?
@reneekroyer51043 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for these videos, Brad. They are so helpful to me, a new painter in acrylic. It helped me so much to see how you mixed your colors.

Yes, I love those colors and the thick paint style. I'm trying to learn how to paint using a palette knife. I wish I could afford better paint. lol I use acrylic paint and it dries so fast but I can't tolerate oil paint and the solvents and mediums used with it. Even `odorless' mineral spirits gives me a headache. So, I had to switch to acrylic paint. I also love pastels but wow, the dust!

Hey Brad -- I love your work. I recently saw the painting Autumn Cascade in Art & Architecture magazine. I love it. I am a new artist -- working in pastel but recently taking up palette knife painting. Your work has inspired me. Thank you for these videos on KZbin.

I love palette knife paintings. I recently saw some of your work in a gallery in Santa Fe. Love your technique. I am a pastel artist but I am now trying to move into palette knife painting using acrylic paint. (I can't tolerate the smell of oil paint and the mediums. Even the odorless mineral spirits gives me a headache. lol It may be odorless, but there is still toxins in there.) Thank you for this video; I enjoyed watching it and learned a lot from it.

I just picked up a palette knife for the first time...EVER and I'm having a blast!

Perhaps try one or two real time video recording while silent? Maybe show mixing paint, but also explain here and there of what you are doing. Many find just the sound of paint mixed and applied on canvas therapeutic.

Now I am also trying to draw with homemade acrylic marker. I am very happy to find this video, but I am sorry that I have not seen any follow-up. I seem to be a little further along than teare, so I'll post the video when I'm done.

Your work is great. I have a question, I got you name from Kita's Collection and she said she sold/or gave what she was selling to do clock faces. "Clock Number Template and Numbers"?

Very good use of that trowel! ... Love the revealing of colors underneath ... Creates some nice affects that are different from just brush strokes and of course it takes a seasoned artist to make it all come together ... thanks for all you videos

hey brad love your videos. Have you ever done anything in thin painting. Like you I am a painter. I absolutely love your thick paintings. I love to see maybe some thinner paintings. Other than that keep painting. I have a youtube channel. Look up Edward Sanchez Art and you will find it. In the video I am doing a copy of a Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres. Please check it out. Keep painting you are great!

Hi Brad, I know this video is a few years old but I'm wondering what you are using now that Utrecht has stopped making their gel retarder. I'm looking at Liquitex's gel retarder but would love your thoughts on best products. Thanks!
@BradTeare Жыл бұрын
I don't use the gel retarder much these days but if I did I would probably use Golden Gel retarding agent.
